even when im present in the moment i cant hold onto a single thought or form the words to tell you what im thinking of
i could sit for hours just to listen to the silence 
i could paint a pretty picture if my hands could find the things to say
tight between my fingers i will hold the pen as i begin to write with it i still cant seem to pick my hand back up
make all of the scribbles into letters in the process 
i figure when im finished i will tkae the book and rip the page out

and i listen you think that i wouldnt by now
time can be awfully convincing 
i swear one day i will learn how to keep a door shut when its closed
ive been closer to contradicting all my doubt 

keeping up is hard to do when there is only two of you inside this room that you have stumbled yourself into
want another word to say or anything to go the way that i had planned i understand its out of my control
confidence and honesty in things that you have said to me to trust a thing that i repeat would be a big mistake
make believe to lie again relying on the evidence and evidently i have not prepared for this or figured it out
