"T120" is cast in two movements. The first is inspired by the experience of travel, sometimes at high speeds, through varied terrains, surfaces, and weather conditions. When conditions are right, I experience exhilaration, lightness of spirit, and indescribable well-being. The music is an intricate lacework of rhythmic drones, patterned accents, and, eventually, melodic phrases that grow out of a rhythmic pattern that runs throughout the piece. The music is anchored by an ostinato played at the outset by the violin that repeats every eleven beats, an asymmetrical phrase length that gently toys with our expectations. The asymmetry is amplified at first: downbeats are de-emphasized, accents appear seemingly at random (though they are all strictly patterned), and other rhythmic figures are superimposed in ways that disguise clear points of reference. This texture unfolds quietly and delicately, purposeful but unsettled. Later, the music becomes more grounded. The rhythmic patterns are embedded in shimmering piano figuration while the violin and cello explore their newfound melodic and rhythmic freedom, leading to an improvisatory violin solo complemented by jazzy piano comping. The cello then takes its turn, offering singing melodies that gradually intensify until all three instruments dive into exuberant music that comprises the long-awaited destination. 

The second movement was not part of my original plan, but it came to me quickly and to me felt like a necessary counterbalance to the calculated design of the first movement. This movement is a meditation on a series of personal losses. An excerpt from a review by A.O. Scott of the film The Irishman captures the feeling beautifully:
"... but part of a deeper, sadder lesson that has to do with the inevitability of loss. The loss of life, yes, but also the erosion of meaning that accompanies the fading of experience into memory and memory into nothing."

T120 for piano trio (2021)

Septet for flute, clarinet, bassoon, violin, viola, cello and percussion  "Communicating Worlds". 
This work transmits the interaction of different energies filling our world: the parallel worlds and energies of the Universe, the Cosmos, and passing through them - energy of Human.

A marvelous performance of "Cadences" by Scott Lindroth with a prelude drawn from Richard Powers' book "Orfeo," read by the author.  The musicians are Jesse Mills (vln), Laura Gilbert (fl), Ben Fingland (cl), Raman Ramakrishnan (vc), Jonathan Bagg (vla), and Rieko Aizawa (pno).   The performance took place in Baldwin Auditorium at Duke University on Sept. 25, 2016.

Much of the music is based on speech rhythms derived from the text in "Orfeo."  These are subjected to permutations and other variations to create new utterances as the piece unfolds.

Sympho-Suite "Master and Margarita" based on the novel of the same name by M. Bulgakov for two solo violins, piano, children's and youth choir, orchestra and actors (2019). Part I

The composition “Master and Margarita” combines two genres of equal size: Suite, as the external form of the work that is responsible for the material world, and Requiem, as the form of the higher spiritual order, which is internally hidden in it. Requiem is a parallel existing reality of the Master’s novel about Pontius Pilate and Yeshua, which finds a direct connection with the everyday life of the writer, and along with our modernity. This is the so-called "novel in a novel" by Bulgakov-Master. The problems and questions raised here are eternal.

Programme note: 
"The introduction corresponds to the appearance of two men at the Patriarch's Ponds. The first man was M. Berlioz, editor of a literary magazine and chairman of the board of one of Moscow's largest literary associations and his young companion was the poet Bezdomny.
It is accompanied by a surreal atmosphere of apprehension and a frightening hallucination of Berlioz.
With the introduction of the first, and then the second solo violins, the exposition begins, in which there takes place a self-forgetful conversation of writers, the pompous speeches of Berlioz sounds comical - they are full of conviction, but superficial and false, leading to collapse, which emphasizes the piano part, persistently discording in the background of the main theme.
During the apogee of Berlioz’s conclusions, Woland emerges (from afar we hear his even tread with the timpani and tom-tom, steadily approaching like an inevitable fate), the conversation is interrupted by a bass clarinet part.
In the middle part between Woland and writers there is a well-known dialogue - the music is charismatic, with increasing brightness and character.
Then, the running of time is felt in it and a Requiem unfolds over everything. Three parts of Requiem aeternam, Kyrie eleison and Dies irae succeed each other one after another. At the end of the Dies irae, in the final part of the Suite, the death of Berlioz takes place - thus, the combination and interconnection of historical periods and events is achieved: Berlioz, chairman of the main literary association, the largest figure of his time, directly influencing public opinion, promoting materialism, egocentrism and lack of spirituality, as a result, deservedly loses his life. At the same time, prayers and appeals to conscience, righteous anger at the sight of cruelty, trampling on the sanctity and cowardice of the society that sent Christ to execution, are heard in Requiem".

Natalia Rojcovscaia-Tumaha is composer, pianist, conductor, pedagogue, linguist, writer, actress, painter and sound director; laureate of national and international competitions and festivals, member/chairman of the jury, participant and organizer of competitions and festivals.
Natalia Rojcovscaia-Tumaha is a member of the Union of Composers and Musicologists of Moldova, a member of the Union of Composers of the Russian Federation, a Board member of the Center for Russian Science and Culture, a Board member of the International Alliance for Women in Music (USA), a member of the American Composers Forum, a Collaborative Composer and Artist of the MusiCaribe Project International (USA), the President of the Guild of Young Art Creators. 
Natalia graduated with a Master's Degrees from the Academy of Music, Theatre and Fine Arts and from the Institute of International Relations of Moldova.
She is a laureate of international competitions such as the International Competition of Scores, organized by the Orchestra Unleashed (USA, California, Hollywood), the Polish Competition of Composers “A. Mickiewicz”, conducted by the Polish Embassy and the Polish Society in Moldova, the Composer Competitions, organized by the Union of Composers and Musicologists of Moldova in categories “Chamber Music” and “Symphonic Works” and many others. Natalia takes an active part in international festivals: the International Festival of Contemporary Music “Music Marine Fest” (Ukraine, Odessa) and “The Days of New Music” (Moldova, Chisinau), the Children's Film Festival "World through the Eyes of Children" as chairman of the jury.
Natalia’s creativity covers many genres and forms of both Art Music (ensemble, orchestral, choral) and Electronic Studio Music. She also works in such directions as theater performances, television shows, film music and has received international award for the soundtrack for the Short Film "I Am Me".
There are many newspaper and magazine articles about Natalia's creativity, as well as TV programs. Her music is performed live and aired on radio stations around the world: in the USA, Canada, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Spain, Ukraine, Russia, Moldova and Africa. Natalia's activities are featured on the New Music USA website, on the official Donne: Women in Music - Drama Musica website (UK, London) along with the most famous women composers and she was selected as the Composer of the Week, on the website of the International Alliance for Women in Music and many others. Natalia was also presented by the WFCF Radio Station as the Featured Composer (Florida, USA).
Natalia is a Collaborative Composer and Artist of the MusiCaribe Project International.
Natalia Rojcovscaia-Tumaha's working principle and her artistic position are characterized by high professionalism, polystylism, innovation and cultural enlightenment.
