Who the Hell is Brendan Benson?

This song was written in Sam Jones' bathroom. About 2 minutes later we recorded this. You can hear me changing the lyrics in the first 40 seconds.
The excellent piano parts were played by Sam Jones and the fantabulous bass stylings were provided by Archie Lamplugh.

Detoxing (Live and Completely Improvised)

I realised a long time ago that people don't write songs about things they really care about. 
I really care about good food and good eating so I wrote this song. It features some of Hull's restaurants in it.
 I'm sad to say the Boar's Nest is no longer open but Hitchcock's is still going strong. And the carrot cake is still divine. (Now I'm more of a banoffee pie girl though.) 

There's also a steal pan being played in the background -that's me! I'm quite proud of that!

A song about being 5' 3", it's got quite a pretty chord sequence and features my autoharp in the background, which doesn't appear to be in tune....

Life Is Short (And So Am I)

It's about Hull, Baby!
Written in 2005, this features a group of table-banging, backing-singing bastards who are playing assorted tambourines, Dr Pepper cans filled with rice and pots and pans with wooden spoons.

Hull Baby

This was the first song I ever wrote, it was originally on ukulele but this version was recorded using the autoharp. It was very popular in Withernsea on Seaside FM. To the point where after I was interviewed, I went down to the icecream shop next door and they recognised my voice. 
Jack the goldfish was a loyal friend who lived til he was two. He passed away from neglect at the hands of an evil, evil man while I was on holiday in July 2006. RIP Jack.

These songs are best described as Quirky Hokey Folky. They are acoustic, humourous, rubbish, sarcastic, witty, badly played, annoying, satirical and were reasonably well received once on Seaside FM in Withersea.

They were written 2004 - 2007 for an album entitled "Well You Can't Hide in the Toilets all Your Life"and were recorded by the extremely talented turd-polisher Sam Jones in his back bedroom in Hull, East Yorkshire.
