This is a nice song, which I wrote and recorded as a by-product for a film music production. Next to me on soprano sax it features the Austrian accordion virtuoso Christian Bakanic and the wonderful Morten Ramsbøl on acoustic bass. One take, ready, go!

"Intertwined Trees" is the first collaboration of German flutist Heinrich von Kalnein and Australian pianist Sophie Min. Although obviously drawing from various sources of the jazz tradition their music at times has the emotional impact of classical music.

All compositions by Sophie Min (APRA - AMCOS), except #2 and #5 by Heinrich von Kalnein (AKM). #4 by Sophie Min and Heinrich von Kalnein.

This was the first out of two CD's of the Austrian band The QuARTet, which existed from 1990 until 1994. The band members were Heinrich von Kalnein - alto- & soprano saxes, Gernot Wolfgang - guitar, Ewald Oberleitner - acoustic bass, Klaus Hofer - drums. This album was produced by guitarist Wolfgang Muthspiel and was released as Ex 158 CD on the Austrian, now defunct independent label Extraplatte.

This was the first out of two productions of the duo Free Winds consisting of saxophonist / flutist Heinrich von Kalnein and saxophonist / nadaswaram player Roland Schaeffer. After a while they invited the Indian tabla virtuoso Jatinder Thakur and developed their own version of Indo-Jazz Fusion. The music was recorded on one night at Soundart Studio, Karlsruhe (GER). Jatinder Thakur was overdubbed at Katapult Tonstudio in Karlsruhe (GER). Mixed at Bauer Studios in Ludwigsburg (GER). It was released in 1996 on the Austrian label Shamrock Records
