This one's a treat, recorded live from their home town residency night in Shortts Terrace, Waterford, the Get Down Edits lads play a wide range of musical styles, tempos and you can really hear how comfortable they are with the crowd.

It's inspiring to see how far Get Down Edits have come in the last few years since that Herb Albert edit hit my inbox and the first time we had them as guest dj's at one of our nights in Dublin to now, where you are very likely to catch them djing in any European city most weekends.

Get Down Edits Bio
Since the late 90’s Waterford born duo Daz and Martin have been tearing up dance floors across the country and further a field with their unique fusion of 70’s and 80’s funk and soul, Nu-Disco and their own disco edits; Get Down Edits: Vol 1-3. The two lads have bags of experience to match their talent and our guaranteed to get a party started as soon as the turntables are switched on. With a mammoth vinyl collection between the two of them you can expect to hear an eclectic mix of tracks every time they put together a set, making each one unmissable. The boys have gained praise from some of the biggest names in House such as Brooklyn stalwart Kerri Chandler, who was greatly impressed by the ‘Get Down Edits’ sound when he played alongside the pair a few years back. With ‘Get Down Edits: Vol 1-3’ all selling out it is clear to say that their productions are as tight as their sets. Get Down Edits have also released tracks on a range of other labels including Disco Deviance, Editorial, Midnite Riot, Glenview Records and Los Grandes. The Get Down Edits groove has been brought to festivals and gigs across Europe such as the Electric Elephant festival in Croatia, Disco Deviance in London and back to back dates in Budapest at the end of 2011. Daz and Martin have also brought some great international acts to our shores for their own successful club-night, ‘Get Down’ (Chez Damier, John Daly and Greg Wilson to name but three). 2012 has been a great year to date with gigs in Newcastle and in London at the House of Disco Warehouse Project, it also seen their most recent edit outing, Get Down Edits Vol:3, selling out on Juno within a few days of its release. The guys are already making plans for volume four which is sure to be jam packed with killer edits yet again. Black Light Disco with Fingerman April 2025

I recently got to play at the long running daytime disco, funk and house event MFSB in Edinburgh and although I didn't manage to record the set live on the day I've recreated the experience here with all the tracks that I played. Big thanks to Yogi and Caroline who had me over and to everyone who showed me some love with the music I played! Hope to return there one day as it's an awesome event. Anyway enjoy!

Ghetto Disco returns for yet another eclectic Soulful, Sunday session with Natasha Kitty Katt & Dennis Probert.

This week we welcome, Get Down Edit's, Martin Roche.

From Waterford City in Southern Ireland, Get Down Edits are Darren Daz Dalton & Martin Roche, Since the late 90`s Waterford born duo Daz & Martin have been tearing up dancefloors around Ireland, Coming from a House & Deep House background in their early days they played support to the likes of Kenny Dope (M.A.W), Dj Deep (Paris), Charles Webster, Fish Go Deep, Chez Damier, Ben Watt & Atjazz to name but a few & even received praise from New York legend Kerri Chandler when he added their names to the thanks list of both his NRK Coast 2 Coast & Southport Weekender mix CD`s as he was so impressed with their many great warm up sets for him,

In 2006 the duo landed a weekly room 2 residency in long running Waterford Alternative Club “Shakedown”, this was their chance to expand their music style & they soon build up Shakedowns room 2 as a cool funky space with a anything goes music policy with various styles from funk, soul, disco, classic electronic & 80`s dance all mixed in house music style,

In 2008 the duo started running & promoting their own “Get Down” night and this allowed them to further refine their signature sound to the deep and soulful disco sound it is today. “Get Down” was their chance to book & promote acts they really believed in, so for the next few years they put on parties with guests like Greg Wilson, Craig Smith, The Revenge, Mark E, Dicky Trisco, LTJ, Harri, 78 Edits to name but a few & it was infact Mr Greg Wilson who advised the duo to set up their own label after he heard some of their re-works & edits played when he came over to play a guest slot for them.

So with some guidance & help from Greg in June 2011 “Get Down Edits” the label was born when its Vol 1 Vinyl release hit the shelfs of all good record stores & the rest they say is history, well not quite history yet as since they have released 3 more Volumes of the series which features tracks by other heavyweight producers including Late Nite Tuff Guy, Deep & Disco, Fingerman & Deadly Sins plus they are about to release Vol 5 early in 2014, as well as releasing material on their own Get Down Edits label they have been invited to host their work on other successful labels & have worked with the likes of Disco Deviance, Glenview US, Editorial, Play Pal, They have also began remixing & have remixes due for release early 2014 for the likes of JKriv & The Disco Machine, Nine Lives & Yam Who.

Since the launch of Get Down Edits the duo have been getting requests to Dj at various parties all across Europe & the UK & can be found each weekend in clubs in places like London, Newcastle, Leeds, Dundee, Hamburg, Budapest or beach parties in Italy, Croatia or Greece as well as some great nights or festivals around Ireland.

After finding the rave scene in 1990, Lee bought his first set of decks a year or two later. Initially influenced by the music in the North West and clubs like Legends (Warrington), The Quad, Cream, The Hacienda he started his music collection and would play at parties, the odd bar gig and create mixtapes for friends.

Fast forward to the turn of the decade (and century!), now living in London, Lee was part of an underground party collective called Most Excellent, putting on parties at various South London venues such as Brockwell Park Lido and The Telegraph (Brixton), playing classic, funky and soulful house music playing alongside a few notable guests like Trevor Fung and Stuart Patterson. 

After a break of about 10 years to get married and start a family, he started listening to the likes of Fingerman, LNTG, The Reflex and was hooked on the underground edits and disco scene. The decks were dusted off and he started to buy music again…

Lee is now proud to be part of the #DiscoWaltons family, a DJ, Producer and music fan collective who frequent the chatrooms of some of the best music shows and livestreams available to humankind!
