This started as trying to make a simple background beat I could loop parts of for a youtube video of some game replay footage I want to make for my friend and I. I think it's safe to say at this point this is more an album. [I am making this public but it wont be finished until I edit out this sentence.]

I don't know what to call it exactly. It is definitely a hip hop beat. But when I freestyle to it its so slow the raps sound bad. A normal hip hop beat is anywhere between 70-100 bpm, and 70 is slow. Well this mix is 65. So there's that. But also the sound design is very unique and also hard to label. At times it sounds like a video game. But most of the time it's got a very trance vibe to the sounds. The melodies pulse with the rhythm, also very trance.  Then there's the bass which takes on a very edm sound for a good portion. 

Again I don't know what to call it.

It has been months since I made a song. I sat down with no particular idea in mind, I just went with it. This is what came out.  As per usual I am not bound by genre limits.  

Maybe Electro Hop? is that a thing?

I named it not AI because I know for a fact AI is a long way from replacing writers and musicians. What I want to see is an AI assistant that can help me do things I train it to do so I can spend more time playing on the piano. People have been showing me left and right that song with the text to speech like weeknd and drake. There's a difference between the voice, writing, producing the sounds. All can be done by AI now, but that dude was like me and USED the AI to put that together. There is no singular program that can do all of that. And by and large you still need to know how to produce a song and work in a DAW to make a song like that. So for one give the ghostwriter some credit.

Skylock Vixen - Not AI

This is my second track brew, following the same style kind of as the first.

This brew is more bass heavy. And I have taken more time with attention to detail providing a much deeper kind of mix. Though I still give it a touch of the first brew. 

All of these songs are original unreleased tracks I made together in the same project to be mixed together. To be clear this is not me DJing someone else's music, this is all 100% original by me.

On accident I kind of created what I would call "Trance Hop". It's exactly like it sounds. The general concept and even at times the sound design of Trance over hip hop drums. In this case exclusively trap beats.

It is dark for most of the mix but I try and brighten it up with a big key change at one point.

This is full of 808 bass and halftime sfx.  It catches you off guard a little too in the beginning. It's dirty and inspired by old school hip hop and trap.

For all the lovers of one of the trashiest genres there is! Here is my rap rock beat. Heavily inspired by Limp Bizkit. I'm thinking of maybe even trying to rap to it, but it's hard to make angsty lyrics for me.

Pussy Rock

Just having some fun at this point, enjoying my Xmas break. I haven't consistently made music in a while and this is my third song in a week. So I am feeling pretty good. 

This is a hip hop song at it's core, but it's totally something else. I wish I had a good genre name for it. I don't know how to describe it. Very melodic, with dark and bright tones. Heavy on the bass, while not existing only as a trap song.

Vibes

A short little rising trap beat. I wanted to make another dope beat after my last one, but this one demanded to be it's own thing, despite it's length. It has elements of funk, trap, trance, and EDM. Very true to the original But also quite different at the same time. I absolutely love her and her brother. I don't get royalties for remixes or covers like this with the original vox. I just hope my version does the original justice. I'd say it is a little more energetic than the original, a bit rougher around the edges, but all the while a wonderful cover/remix.

My Future - Billie Eilish (Skylock Vixen Cover Mix)

A somewhat simple, yet complex dance song I came up with. Very melodic, with rhythmic piano. It has a dirty bass to really give it some pizazz. I wanted to make something pretty and bumping at the same time.

Kick It

Here in Alaska just looking to spread some good vibes. I've been playing with music my whole life, and have been producing electronic songs since 2016, but I had a copy of fruity loops back in 2005. I still only do it as a side thing as I have a whole normal life thing going on. I am heavily influenced by all forms of hip hop and rap. I always look to the genre for inspiration. My dad was a professional gig musician, he has passed now. He played blues mostly, which also has influenced me a lot. I just hope I can put a smile on your face!
