This is a very small montage of some of the 60 GigaBytes of custom sound effects I have personally recorded over the years.  Many of my sounds are found in PlayStation video game franchises such as Twisted Metal, Syphon Filter, SOCOM: US Navy SEALs, God of War, Flower, and Uncharted.  There's no story here, just a random sampling of some of my raw recordings.

Soft Haze

Demo for my Depeche tribute band.  This is NOT actually the Mode, nor any of their recordings.  It's all been meticulously recreated with original sounds and vocals.  Because it's so accurate, most people assume it's just a mix of their songs, or some kind of remix, but that is NOT the case.  I am using much of the same equipment that they originally used, nearly perfectly recreating every note, rhythm, and effect.  I then record vocals over the top.  My friend Daniel is singing the lead vocals and I try to sing background vocals.  Still looking for a "Martin Gore", if you happen to know any good tenor vocalists with strong vibrato.

These sounds are 100% custom.  No commercial libraries, preset sounds, or plug-in chains or patches were used or edited in the creation of these sounds.  They all come straight from my own recordings, synthesizers, processors, voice, and other instruments.  They were all edited, mastered, and looped where applicable, and are playing back directly from a game sound engine.  No DAWs were used in the making of this demo, except for some initial sound design, and to record the final output from the game sound engine.  This is just a small random sample of some of the many sounds I have created, including weapons, ambiences, wind, water, rain, creatures, aliens, destruction, electricity, physics objects, and UI sounds.

Nate Brenholdt began making video games and composing music in 1985, with more regular commercial releases starting in 1990.  Here is a showcase of excerpts from a variety of audio creations and remixes over the years.  Some of these tracks (including some of the untitled ones) have been commercially released in one form or another.  They can be found in video games, movies, TV and internet advertisements, on albums, in sound effects libraries, and in use in other commercial media.  Copyrights and/or publishing may be held by myself, other individuals, Sony, Atari, Northstar Studios, Big Idea Entertainment, Classified Records, SoundVault, and others.  No commercial loops were used in the making of these songs.
