This version was actually made exclusively for Paul Hazendonk's artist of the week mix on friskyRadio last fall, but the response was so good that we've now decided to give the track away for free via Soundcloud. The intention when producing this song was to remix the 'Hazy Echoes' track which appeared on Paul's 'ADAPT' album and featured the vocals of London based singer/songwriter Patchy. However the Hazendonk/Cue duo ended up with a totally different song at the end, that's why we decided not to release it as a remix, but as a new song titled 'Recaptured'. Having introduced acts like Theo Kottis, Luttrell and Tontario to the label since launching in early 2016, the Explorations series returns for the third time, welcoming four new artists to Anjunadeep.

Opening the EP is Belgian producer Compuphonic, who has made a name for himself over the past decade with popular releases on Exploited, Get Physical and Turbo. ‘Island Flutter’ sees him at his melodic best, weaving arpeggiated melodies around a warm textured groove.

French duo and Traum Schallplatten affiliates Antoine Rigail and Fabien Garcia a.k.a We Need Cracks debut with ‘Blue Danube’, a favourite from last years iTunes #1 compilation ‘Anjunadeep 08’ where it was reworked by mixers James Grant & Jody Wisternoff themselves.

Russian talent Modd delivers a stripped back dancefloor moment in ‘Inki’, an intricate blend of delicate soundscapes and subtle melodies.

Closing the EP are UK duo Fluida, fresh from a string of acclaimed releases on Fatboy Slim’s Southern Fried imprint. ‘Not Alone’ showcases their impressive multi-instrumentation alongside deft vocals and trademark hangdrum sounds.

'Kuljinder' kicks things off, and we are greeted with atmospheric and deep sophisticated melodious and a tad melancholic workout. Deep sub bass, tinkling tones and a subtle groove set the tone wonderfully as start on the voyage. Luscious pads grace the track adding emotion, and pitched vocal samples add intensity as the beauty unfurls it magical spell.

Marino first got our attention with a tune called ‚Can’t feel‘ a few years back. We played that track for ages, followed him since then and his music always found a way into our sets. Since we started the Siamese label he was always on the wish list to make a record for us and after his successful debut on the latest ‚Siamese Anthology‘ EP we can finally reveal a full EP from Marino Canal. 

The title track ‚A Fire In The Sun‘ has been a permanent tool for us since we got it. It is changing the mood especially in the first part of our sets, letting us go many directions after it. It‘s calm but powerful, emerges suddenly but then goes back to its steady groove.

‚Her Perfect Sky‘ is Adrian Schweizer‘s favourite and was featured in the recent and highly anticipated Cercle set we played right in the French Alps. It did fit perfectly to the surrounding and we really had the perfect sky that day. 

Next up is ‚White Atlas‘ which reminds us a bit of the minimal era. There have been a few tracks back then which had enormous depth and warmth and this one goes a bit into this direction, with a catchy but darkish melody. 

‚Distant Borders‘ marks the perfect finish for us, a nicely moody track that doesn’t try to steal the show but works in its own way.
