In 2006 Miguel Campbell launched Outcross Records, joined not long after by Matt Hughes and together they have been consistently releasing music on Outcross Records. 
The imprint has gone on to release music from Inland Knights, Miguel Punte, Tboy, Iain O'Hare, Sean Roman and Mam, and their latest 8th year Anniversary compilation album showcases that roster while adding a few names as well. 
Opening the album is a new duo from Johannesburg going by the name of Popart. The track - 'In Shadows'  is an original, nu-disco track with a catchy disco vocal hook. Next is Minota & Stephane Deschezeaux with their track. A deep bouncy house track with complimenting talkbox adlibs. Label vetran Matt Hughes follows this with an italo disco vybe . Mike Gillenwater is up next with a signature french-house sound. Miguel Campbell drops his beat instrumental 'Fly Beatbox' follow by Tboy and 'Unchained', both recently released on vIVA Music. Balcazar and Sordo are next with a low-slung club groove. Inland Knights bring their renown bouncy house vybe. Miguel Puente features with Andrew Brown for a hypnotic club gem. Da Sunlounge follows up with an energetic groove. Funky Fat add their sumptuous house sound. Sean Roman's punchy 4/4 rhythm and synth bass notes result in a pulsating dynamism on 'Leave'. Iain O' Hare offers a disco underground groove with manipulating vocals. LxxxR brings a progressive driving disco flavour whilst Golf Clap change the tempo with their uplifiting 'Memories' and closing the release is Severin Borer with a rich vocodered deep house track.

Outcross Records label head Miguel Campbell is proud to present new EP ‘Free Falling’, alongside talented vocalist and long-term collaborator Beccs Lott. Scheduled for release on July 27th, it continues’ Outcross’ prolific 2015 apace, following an impressive run of EPs from Iain O’Hare, MAM and Italian producer TBoy.

Having previously joined forces on ‘Not That Kind of Girl’ on Hot Creations back in 2012, it’s clear to see that Miguel and Beccs Lott’s collaborative sound has not only tightened, but assumed a level of depth and maturity that only develops from a real understanding of each other as artists. Title-track ‘Free Falling’ is a case in point, fus-ing Miguel’s bright, soulful production work with Lott’s soothing vocal tones, while on ‘Run With Me’ - a track full of verve and colour - Miguel taps into his signature, disco-inspired brand of classic house.

Miguel Campbell & Beccs Lott - Run With Me

Moscow born DJ & producer, Phil Gerus, has already shined this year on Futureboogie, contributing a sterling effort to our Summer Riot IV compilation last month.  And so the multi-genre crossing producer returns to the fold with his own 4 track EP, brimming with raw boogie business.

Already a regular on the Sonar Kollektiv and Man Make Music labels, Gerus has also cropped up on Kerri Chandler’s Madtech label and the DhARMA imprint.

The ‘Now Is Gone’ EP features four funk fuelled cuts, from the bass slapping boogie down of opener ‘One More Button Down’ to the electro tinged ‘Better Sing It To Me First’, filled with synth sweeps, deft guitar licks, heavy claps and syncopated bass, a very authentic slice of 80s groove!

‘She Rides Shotgun’ ramps up the energy levels with a high tempo dancefloor burner, whilst the EP title track, ‘Now Is Gone’, unfurls into a robotic and choppy dub mix style cut, just waiting for the lino to go down on the floor for some serious popping moves!

A warm, authentic and lively release then from Gerus, who displays an in depth knowledge and touch for the sound and applies this is droves to all the tracks here.

one of my fav . Hailed from Memphis. Prior to being known as Kwick, Terry Bartlett, William Sumlin and Bertram Brown for Stax as The Newcomers, having a hit in the early 70's with "Pin The Tail On The Donkey". They contributed plenty of background work for other artists on Stax and opened as a live act for label mates the Bar-Kays, and for The Emotions. After the demise of Stax they added a fourth member, Vince Ricari Williams and changed their name to Kwick.
