Sexy Taxes

Here's my first cover for the "Song a month for a year challenge"! I know I'm a week late but cut me some slack, I got married to my beautiful wife last weekend (who's lovely and amazing vocals are featured here). This is one of our favorite songs and we thought it would be fun and a decent challenge to cover! We were for sure correct. I have a newfound appreciation for Madison Cunningham, her band, and her producers but I am also proud of myself for getting this cover to sound (in my opinion) as good as it does in one month by myself!

Looking around in my unfinished projects file and found this. Just a short little melodic A/B progression that sounds nice despite the rough edges. I probably will never finish it but I think it's good enough for soundcloud.

November's song a month for a year challenge. Had a lot of fun recording this one and I just kind of let it lead me wherever it wanted to go. Started out wanting to do a chill western emo vibe and got a shoegaze banger in the end. I always try to do too many things with my songs at this point but i'm not sure that's an entirely bad thing. I had less fun mixing it though and am still not completely satisfied with the end result of how the mix sounds.

Red Trail And/or Yellow Trail

a funky little number to end the year. I am pretty proud to say that this is the only song all year I feel like I should've worked harder on. but i gotta keep telling myself that funk is DIFFICULT. that 16th note pickup is no joke man! 
I didn't try as hard on the mix as i have been these past few tracks (december was a busy month, ok?) but i still feel like it sounds good even if it is a bit quiet (export audio definitely got quieter, anyone know why that is?)
