A prisoner faith

WHY DO I DO THIS KIND OF MUSIC??
To my brothers and sisters listening —
Please, don't take this as just another song. This is a wake-up call. A call to rise up peacefully, to get involved positively with your community, your city, your state, and our country. We need action. We need each other more than ever.
Learn about who is running for election in your area. Know the names and faces of the officers who serve in your police department. Take your children, and volunteer to clean a park, or visit and support elders who have been left behind with no family to care for them. These small acts build strong, lasting change. This is our home — our planet — and we are responsible for keeping it alive.
Raise awareness among the young. Lead by example. Be a role model they can look up to. Smile at one another. Spread kindness wherever you can.
I speak from experience — deep, painful experience. I wish I could turn back time and live my life differently. Everything I advise you to do now comes from the mistakes I made, from the losses I can never recover.
I lost my mother — she passed away alone in a retirement home while I was behind bars.
I lost my children — I have not spoken to them in over four years.
I lost precious moments with my 11-year-old daughter — moments I can never get back.
I grew up surrounded by violence, running the streets, and believing it would never end.
But everything ends. And when it does, the only thing you leave behind is your legacy — the memory of who you were, the impact you made, the love you gave. Where your soul and conscience will rest depends on the choices you make today.
I hope to be remembered in a good way. I hope you will too.
