I Had Once

I wrote this on the acoustic guitar but immediately heard Electronic, Rock, Reggae, Latin and even some Jazz subconscious influences. I decided to go with synth and bass to see if I could build a heavy groove without drums. I used a shaker and a Rhodes style piano to add layers of energy and help drive the track forward. Emotionally for me, this song is energetic but still breathes with space to reflect on moments when a loved one seems to be pulling away.
