The jagged, misshaped edges of my heart
Still haven’t found a border line.
I’m sifting through the pieces
Of a pile growing steadily with time. 
Every time I put another piece in place
The puzzle grows again. 
I just want some solidity,
I don’t need to know how or where, just when.

I can’t seem to find the pieces
That best fit the moment here and now.
This puzzle’s getting bigger
With the gaps between the pieces I’ve put down.

Maybe it’s because my eyes are broken,
I mix up my reds and greens. 
Colors may be difficult,
So shapes are how I find the space between. 
And I have trouble focusing
My efforts on a simple task at hand. 
My thoughts are in the future
While the present drifts by heavily unplanned.

I Can See The West From My Window

Wanderer, wonderer, journeyman, folksinger — Nate Taylor fuses story and experience on a quest for connection through music — to people, to nature, to truth. Often compared to Nick Drake for his resonant fingerpicking, Taylor paints an ethereal soundscape with his soaring vocals that implores a kind of reverence for the moment. His songs wrestle with love, loss, and purpose in pursuit of the ideal that music can be a force for understanding in an ever more disparate world. While a faithful steward of the Boston folk scene for much of the year, Taylor completed his fourth annual house show tour in 2018, affectionately titled There And Back Again, or TABA 2018, covering 12,000 miles and living out his vision of community through music. In December 2018, Taylor released “TABA 2018 LIVE,” a collection of live recordings from TABA 2018. Join the adventure when Nate comes to your town!
