here's the reason of "why" from "how" :

so he did "try's" but nothing works if doesn't got the "approbation from above".. that's how it felt .

oh and he found the girl (Jill, wow) who looked like the one he tried at the gym.. amazed

the gym girl ? that was 2024, he saw her on her own not to be disturbing shoot his shot, was sick and saw her with somebody else..at the gym when the guy saw Lucas try.

anecdote when he was 19:
group class of 4 --> doing projects and stalking networks

he wrote (since a poet) and gave a book/journal to the girl (simrane), put it in her mailbox then :

9pm she called him & yell at him for doing such a psycho move cause she was worried about her parent's pov (Indian kinda like Dylan). so he just say "sorry" & yeah.
