Rain was created only using HTML5 synths found on the internet. I spent hours searching and playing with drum machines, instrument emulators and online DAWs. Rain was initially created for a university assignment in a 7.1 format. I found it resonated with me too much to not share with the world, so I mixed it down to stereo as well.

Having huge build ups and drops weren't my idea of what Rain was. Using huge gnarly sounds were to provide contrast, 'there is no dark without light'. The contrast was to display the emotions that went through my head during a time of uncertainty. The aggression is always covered up by a sense of calm, a front that is always shown. The unpredictable nature of the song is the reason why I feel Rain resonates with me so much.

The rhythms of the song were also on the tail end of my album 'Tea, Cake and an Existential Crisis'. Where I studied rhythmic complexity and its application in dance music. Rain was meant to be free of such genres, as it ebb and flows between different tempos and sonic material.
