A track about a medieval like gathering to celebrate-discuss the couple's introductories, their arranged Royal Affair! The setting in my head, a high society pre-official-celebration event that takes place in the grand castle hall where the noble guests of honour attend the glamorous occasion fit for the chosen King and Queen yet to be!  They can say no if they wish so keep your fingers crossed for good luck as the families & related ties meet & greet highlighting the desirable qualities of each! The serious tone discussions linger about until progress is made, a final decision awaiting. So let us now politely curtsey, bow, fan, smile, hold the stance-stare-glare fixated! More trumpets now please! We so need the hype-vibe pumped up to make this vital connection go green! 

Keeping up with the obligatory motions is the name of this game...mode of course, diamonds and pearls, ornate embroidered design style...divine perfection creatures of the flirting-fine kind...good looks adorned in eye catching draping ruffling-puffing satins and velvety masculine jacket-suit-tail attire, embellished with piercing heavy metallics...to go on to say that all of this razzle-dazzle extraviganza to be accompanied with rustic wine goblets & rich colourful dine, circular dance activity, snotty chit-chat whispers and back stabbing schemes, the music picture mood of an ancient world what I'm trying to convey in a modern poppy way...not sure if I did exactly that or not...using just an Arturia Micro Brute Synth to sound something like an Indian Wooden Acoustic Harmonium or a Bag-Pipe was the challenge fun for me...to rather use, soley the synth and not my harmonium or *Bag-Pipe which I don't even play or own...to try and get the essence medieval feel somehow to shine through...Hmn, maybe yes? Maybe no? Not sure? Ponder over that notion...Hope you will enjoy this perhaps exciting number, REKHA XOXOXO

The rhythmic background in my track was created by taking Jo's recording and chopping it up into fragments, then running it through a sample arpeggiator using an app called Samplr. Jo's recording is also used in the backward tape effect at the beginning and end, also created with Samplr. 

To further experiment with tape manipulation effects I did my own reading of the poem, then snipped the vocals into fragments and pitch-shifted them, this time using the Abu Dhabi dynamic loop slicer in Korg Gadget. Of course I also layered on some synth and keys (arturia microfreak, minilogue xd). Quite a different approach for me on this one, but it all came together surprisingly quickly considering the relative complexity. I hope to experiment with similar techniques going forward, I'm finding it fun to work with poetry and spoken word, so am definitely open to more collaborations that go in this direction!

I had such a picture in my mind of a couple in love having a beautiful romantic evening together, enjoying each other’s company away from all this society’s craziness, just the two of them together. I feel there is a very easy and a more natural existance for us all to share this planet in peace & unity before its to late for everything on our one and only paradise garden in space!
