On first listen Iggy Pop's Lust for Life doesn't sound particularly original. The drumbeat a lift of You Can't Hurry Love and the layers of additional percussion suggest the Stones' Sympathy for the Devil.

So what's the secret of this rock classic? In short, Iggy Pop's lyrics and performance. There's something joyously lunatic about the ecstatic delivery that propels the song along at super high speed.

Greetings!,  As many of you know, I am a child of the 80's.  I have recently been enjoying a show called Stranger Things which is set in the 80s where much of the clothes, conversation and artifacts they present throughout the show keep me very entertained. Yes, I am easily amused. The soundtrack to the show is very well done; tip of the hat to the music supervisor for this series.  I especially love the vibe of the theme song and the very, very 80s era use of midi drums and synths.  I attempted to emulate that vibe and feel in my latest song called?  I am still deciding on a title.  It will be called Comatose or Shore It Up. If I remember correctly, I went with that distinctive 808 drum thump, that rubbery synth bass sound and a very liberal use of side-chaining just for the fun of it. I also provided heavy dosage of that classic saw tooth synth sound with added sweeping filters across the landscape.This song was a blast to make and it will be hitting the airwaves very soon.  Stay tuned and thanks for dropping by my music cave for a peak into my music creation world....

This is the 3rd original song that DeeP. and I worked on together. I really appreciate his experimental yet accessible dark and soulful production work. I like how his music allows me to touch on topics that I normally wouldn’t write about if I were leading the music production. I have been reflecting on how it is important to stretch and grow and try new things. DeeP.’s music really helps me to achieve this goal and his mixing and mastering really brings out the best in me. 

I wanted this song to fit in thematically with the other 2 songs we worked on but I felt the music wanted me to expand the range of subject matter. Therefore, I went gothic and took my cues from gothic literature, such as The Castle of Otranto and Frankenstein, and tried to channel those literary elements into a pop song. For the subject matter I was also reflecting on how psychic connections and empathy can be draining unless one develops and maintains skills to remain grounded and whole. 

It is so fun to make music with musicians one admires. SoundCloud is the best place to be a fan. Both Phil McWalter and Nathalie B20 are SoundCloud legends and incredibly talented and prolific musicians who I have listened to for years now. I feel super honored to have finally gotten the chance to make music with these giants. I hope they had fun as well!!!

This one is about a car chase. I was watching a late movie, one of the  Fast And Furious movies…..I know what you’re gonna say, that I watch too much TV. The thing is I’m an insomniac so when I get frustrated and after counting about a thousand sheep and I still can’t find a restful sleep I then turn to TV. Im from Melbourne Australia, I have been playing guitar for many years now and played in two bands during the 80's & 90's (STOLEN CAR original) & (STORM cover),both bands never released any material. Since 2010 i have been writing songs and tunes and recording them in my music room (3rd Bedroom), i play Guitar, Bass, Keys, BFD2 Drums(programmed)and Vocals on all of my songs which i class as Demo's, I love all types of music but Hard Rock, Rock to Alternative appeals to me most.
