Born in Milan to a Cameroonese father and a Polish/Lithuanian mother, Nathan Dawidowicz moved at the age of 6 to Jerusalem. He was spending his childhood in a Jewish ultra-orthodox environment playing the piano and dreaming of being a Fashion designer and musician. After waking up from the reality he was raised in, he moved to Venice and started to explore the “outside world” of the mental barriers of religion. Music and fashion were his medicine, and he quickly became addicted to musical textures and vinyl. His love for music brought him quickly to Berlin, where he currently lives and loves. 

Sanctuary Of Ideas is a very personal and optimistic journey by Nathan Dawidowicz. His first solo album is a spiritual path, as cosmic and adventurous as Nathan`s trajectory, with beautiful twists and psychedelic twirls into Dawidowicz’s personal rabbit hole. A record full of memories and positive affirmations, filled with Jazzy yet psychedelic Cosmic and Krautrock elements. A fusion of inspiration - and a perfect reflection of Dawidowicz’s heritage. 

Idea`s Eve is a stargate to our ancestral power. The source of our inspiration is connected to our past - to the spirits of our ancient memories. Dawidowicz leaves a lot of space to breathe in this magical opener. Enchanting melodies and bubbling sounds surround the listener while his voice keeps repeating a mantra of an ancient love spell. A track where you feel your DNA spiraling up the ladder of evolution. Yet so natural and healing. 

Full Moon Dance is the spiritual continuation of the first track. A swirl of magical melodies, yet jazzy but truly cosmic walking up the ladder to another dimension, where warm moon rays and fluffy clouds surround love. The synth lines represent the playful and smooth moon rays reflected on a rhythmical heart-beating ground where tears can be joyfully spent to honor the emotions we usually oppress. 

To close the EP, Nathan Dawidowicz worked a half a year to finalize the last track in full detail. 23 Minutes and 18 Seconds long is the Capricorn Rising Over Jerusalemite Temple. This story is where the listener is brought to a higher level of consciousness. Against the rules of our consumerist world, Nathan Dawidowicz focuses on a dramaturgy full of patience for our own lifetime. Acidic lines come and go, powerful synth solos trigger unknown brain parts, and an epic melody accompanies the listener and lets dark emotions melt in a brass-filled part where a voice tells us that time is on our side. The song ends with an epic twist and promises a new start, where our most lovely memories stay in a vortex of light. Beam me up Nathan.

The road ahead would never be clear, she knew that much to be true. It had already been an intrepid journey to get to this point; one fraught with twists and turns, near misses and last minute escapes. Each and every obstacle had taught her something, had in some way made her stronger, more resilient, more forgiving and more optimistic about what she might encounter next. A path without any bumps or hurdles would have made the journey far less memorable - after all this was all part of the rich tapestry of life.

Nathan Dawidowicz first album is, unsurprisingly, a very personal project. On Sanctuary of Ideas, the Berlin-based producer does exactly that by channeling a myriad of different influences and sounds into a collection of cerebral, spiritual compositions to sooth, stimulate and arouse. Neu Verboten's Lustpoderosa imprint feels like the perfect place for these psychedelic opuses, one of which is a transcendent and mind-expanding 23 minutes long (and took Nathan half a year to finish). Taking cues from Krautrock, jazz, cosmic psychedelia and organic electronica, these three tracks are a reflection of Nathan's diverse upbringing, his life experiences and memories, and maybe a glimpse at where he's heading next.

Max Essa returns to Is It Balearic? for his 9th release on the label. ‘When I'm Homeward Bound' brings us that classic Essa sound with a hint of Tears For Fears for good measure! The pads are delightfully gooey and subtly uplifting over gently percussive and stuttering beats and the whole thing is rich in lazy poolside energy. Nathan Dawidowicz remixes the original into a hypnotic, percolating piece of deep and tribal disco, while Secret Soul Society brings out the early evening house grooves ready for those sunset sessions. The record finishes with the closing cut, 'Chasing Horses’,  a super sweet late night groove with heartfelt chords and instrumentation.

PREMIERE: Max Essa - When I’m Homeward Bound (Nathan Dawidowicz Remix) [Is It Balearic? Recordings]

Nathan Dawidowicz's path has been one of contrast and exploration. Born to a Polish-Lithuanian mother and Cameroonian father, they moved from Milan to Jerusalem at the age of six, growing up in an ultra-Orthodox Jewish community. While pursuing an academic path in design, music remained a constant companion, deeply rooted in childhood experiences playing the piano within religious ceremonies.

Though design became their formal study, it was music that provided a way to navigate life. Inspired by their father’s time as a DJ in Milan throughout the '80s and '90s, Nathan’s relationship with sound evolved, eventually leading them to Berlin, where they continued to explore expression through music.
In Berlin, they joined forces with Luspoderosa, a label based between Zurich and Berlin, known for its unconventional approach. This collaboration became the foundation for Nathan’s debut solo album, Sanctuary of Ideas—a deeply personal, cosmic exploration of memory, heritage, and the emotional landscapes of sound.
