One morning, in the twilight of my adolescence, I sat on a white spray painted bench swing in my grandparents backyard waiting for the sun to rise as the world woke up all around me. First the various songbirds then the chattering scritch scratch of the squirrels then the familiar start stop wop of the paper boy followed by a cascading crescendo of sounds but on that day there was something else underneath it all but also encompassing the all of it. I heard two songs weaving in and out of perfect harmony to divine melody that sounded like the saddest most heartbreaking song of all time and the happiest joy filled song ever heard by the ears of man and sat there curiously blown away as I realized it was the song of life. Thank you, God for the wonders of music in all it's many forms. What an amazing gift it is!
