“Farewell Dima” is a short piano narrative: cinematic and melancholic.. Originally commissioned for a collage-theater piece: MANIFESTO: The Diaghilev Project, “Farewell Dima” depicts the parting scene between the two central characters, Dima and Serge Diaghilev.

The second track of “Her Elegy” released November 3rd. “Dedication,” the name of this second movement is a tribute to the unwavering commitment my grandmother had toward her family, and more specifically, my musical life. 

“Dedication” is a calm and simple waltz in irregular meter, reflective of Ida’s endless love and persistence. The first three tracks (Evocation, Dedication and Meditation) take you on an original solo piano journey of losing and remembering someone you love, followed by an album which twists into a narrative told by Ida - prima stage-grandma of her star piano prodigy grandson, Dustin. This album bends through synth-wave-art-rock, mixed with Ida's favorite works by Liszt, Debussy, Chopin and Rachmaninoff. The next track “Meditation” releases December 8th.

Pianist Dustin Gledhill pays homage to French composer Gabriel Fauré, releasing Nocturne No. 6 in D-flat Major, Op. 63, commemorating one hundred years since the composer's death. One of thirteen nocturnes, Fauré composed op. 63 in 1894 after a brief hiatus from piano, and is regarded as one of his finest Nocturnes. This dreamy piece blends Romanticism with Impressionist moments, while displaying Fauré’s unique musical language.

Releasing November 15, 2024, Live at Wigmore Hall - 2010 includes Les ombres errante and La Misterieuse from Pièces de Clavecin by François Couperin, Piano Sonata No. 4 by Sergei Prokofiev, and Gabriel Fauré's Nocturne No. 6 in D-flat Major. 

This Wigmore Hall recital was part of Dustin's first-prize award offered by the prestigious New Orleans International Piano Competition.

The rushing Sea

In his nearly middle aged eyes, 
she’s a fearless wave, 
running on this Inland Sea, 
sweet as the sugar cane
he once tasted as a boy,
waiting on the quay for the boats from France.

As a young man he crossed this Sweet Sea,
paddling to the North.
Full of dreaming and boyhood’s hopes,
he raced from Montreal.
North and westward-west and north- 
every youthful hope drowned with the years,
But now she’s here: 
this fearless wave...

trickle,
flow,
run,
run on….

But who was she?
In her own eyes, 
who was she? 
In her own eyes,
before she was Marie?

In her girlhood what did her eyes see? 
What visions for her life? 
Did she gaze out on Gichigami 
with the same longing, 
as the others who had left 
following these men, paddling to the East? 

Was she given and did she just go?
Or was it all her choice?
And in the rushing of waves and years
did she keep her voice?
In that moment standing there
looking at this man- pale dirty skin and hair -
did she dare dream 
of you and me? 

Together they went           (Trickle,
To the rushing Sea              flow
They paddled North           Run…. etc. )
Then to the South again. 
Always together,     
through those rushing days.
Child after child, 
Year after year...
To the Sea,
To the rushing Sea!
wave after wave,
breath after breath….  

We race through the years     
Holding tightly                   
to our belief                             
to these stories
to these shores 
hoping that they will keep us safe
stop us from flowing into 
that endless Sea
