Ghost Road

part 1 & 2.
This was one of the earlier bits of music I recorded shortly after a 20 year (hard to believe) 'break' from writing music. It's also one of the very few songs that were just solo piano and which I could play without multiple tracks. So it was surprising that this took only about 2 days from initial conception to final recording - even though I've revised it a few times since then, as usual (thus this latest re-upload).  I may try to add some strings to this one day, which I think would work nicely.  


All comments welcome, and don't be shy to be critical or suggest ideas to help me improve. :)

A New Nostalgia... (solo piano)

This is something I've been meaning to make for a while, a track made only of samples; a little exercise in sampling and editing, inspired by the works of Pierre Schaeffer, Daft Punk, Pogo, Danger Mouse and many hip-hop and electronic producers which names I honestly can't remember. Fun fact: as some sort of old school restriction, all the samples were taken from the records I physically own, on CD and vinyl.

This is the final result of our new collaboration and another musical journey to which we invite you. There has already been an expedition into space and into the depths of the ocean. Now it's time for a night journey along the highway in the moonlight. This is a long journey where getting to the destination is paramount. We hope we were able to create this mood. Moon Highway  -  w/Surfers Like Us

this track started with me 'playing' ( a loose term as I'm not a pianist, fiddling might be a better term) on the piano alongside a drum track I'd just programmed. This really nice piano riff came up but I wasn't recording. Fortunately ableton has this thing where it always "listens" so i was able to press a button and it magically brought up what Id just played... phew!
