This song was composed 12 August 2012, the day that I received my 25-key M-AUDIO Oxygen 25 Keyboard Controller in the mail. Once I fooled around and got a beat, the words came naturally. This song pays homage to the L.A. dancers whom created "Lockin'" and "Poppin'" This is actually my tribute to "Old Skool" rap songs.

The idea of this song came upon me one day in December 2018 while watching an old "Sitcom" called: "Welcome Back Kotter" on "MeTV". In the episode the character 'Freddie "Boom-Boom" Washington' played by actor: Lawrence Hilton-Jacobs walks into the classroom with a Jamaican accent (in a 10 second skit )singing: "I don't care what the whiteman say! Santa Clause is a blackman. This is feel a good song for dancing or listening that Santa Clause is a Blackman, paying homage to "The God Father of Soul" James Brown's 1968 recording "Santa Clause Go Straight to the Ghetto".

Born in Baltimore, Maryland. (B-more). At a very young age I knew that my interest has always been creating music. By the time I was 17 years old I was making numerous beats for the "up and coming" New York City "hip-hop" artist who are now known the world over. To keep myself out of trouble I joined the Cherry Hill Junior High School Band and started playing the Bass Cello when I was in the 7th grade; however it proved too heavy for me to carry home after many months, so I switched to the Trombone and played it until the 9th grade. Performing as a front man in three local bands by the age of 16, and after numerous failures in the different bands and my disappointment with the major record label we were signed to (I swore "NEVER" to sign with a label again, even though I still receive offers) and an uncertainty of where my life was headed I joined the U.S. Navy were I met some "brotha's" who were VERY talented that could sing, write, as well as play musical instruments; but lacked the courage and hunger to go out there and make their dreams a reality, some of them had no sense of direction and were very "negative" in trying to achieve their "so-called" passion in music. "That was my inspiration! God gave me the talent. I need to use it!" I learned that my "passion" is and has always been music. "What was I thinking?" "Being an "Independent Artist" there's nothing that I feel I can't do when once I put my mind to it!" "If there's anything that anyone has learned about me it's that I'm dedicated more than you'll ever imagine when there is something that interest me." If there is not interest then it can "Kick rocks!" Music is my interest! I decided to change my artist name to "The Nathaniel Hardy Project" because I managed to get my projects done by myself because music is a part of my life even though I only have a few tracks at first. Music has taught me one thing, and this is my saying and don't let anyone tell you any different: "NEVER depend on anyone else to put you in a place that you want to be!"
