Part of a university project at The University of Lincoln. The aim was to create a 5 minute soundscape, which we decided to base off a short film I wrote of the same title. The soundscape juxtaposes the harsh, gritty violent work life of an interrogator with his more pleasant home life/reality. 

The project was completed by myself, Luke Sherrell and David Dernley

I Walk the Night

Rough demo of the first track of a new EP being worked on by myself and @scottypash (on twitter). A concept album of sorts, following the character Jonah Morse, as he escapes from the whale into a post-apocalyptic landscape where evolution has run amok. 

Originally just an attempt at a new syllabel track, we created elements entitled Jonah's Morse Code. Deciding Jonah Morse was a superb character name, we have decided to turn ourselves - Gorillaz style - into Jonah Morse and develop 'his' album/EP. Look out for it!

Lyrics:
Ignore the pelagic howls;
It’s a kind of song to them.

[ambience]

They’ve been singing all night
To make the ocean tight
So their family doesn’t seem so far away.

They’ve stopped for the dawn,
When a white neutron star was born
Radiation sinking into the skin. 

After sprinting evolution
Humble bodies all illusion,
They crawl onto the desert sand.

One collapses under heat,
Crunching down foreign feet
Brethren wandering exotic land.

Crawling, crawling, ever crawling,
Birthing, unfurling, beneath pallid light;
Sit amongst old ribs,
Start fires,
Fires like atoms to the sun,
Fires like atoms to the neutron star.

The whales are lifeless,
Bar the few who returned home.
The whales are tired,
Going to sulphurous depths.

The ones who didn’t are now roofless;
Come closer, come closer,
Watch as the whales become lizards become dragons.

White light smothers the desert
Putting the fires out for good;
Stand, huddle close, we have to travel far.
We have to travel far. 
We have to meet the horizon and shake her hand,
Because these whales are cold now
And are no longer a home for us children of soil.

I… I actually miss their song now,
Though it drove my mind to tatters.
They sang under eclipses,
They sang under the birth of stars,
And now they sing no more.

Come closer, we must travel now.

Jonah Morse - #1 Incipio [rough demo]

Recently I have come into contact with a program called Fruityloops. After spending hours of time from Secondary School til now, surrounded by artists of various capacities, I have decided that the vague, esoteric, incorrect, messy musical knowledge I have accumulated via a kind of creative osmosis from my peers should probably be used in some form.

I've begun making some vague tracks - want to do more, have more, experiment more - and what you see in this set is a collection of First Drafts for a possible album. 

When I've done it, I'll bung a proper album on bandcamp and we can all be merry together.

Creative Commons'ed this mother', just ask if you want it and we'll work on an individual basis. In all honesty if anyone thinks these are good enough for anything I'll be happy!

I'm no musician, but a hell of a lot of my friends are. Occasionally I team up with this wonderful musicians and create musetry, an arrogant neologism for poetry and music combined. Basically spoken word, ambient electro, folk-y inspired music.
