Steyoyoke Recordings is notorious for high quality music and evolving sound. Constantly charging forward, Steyoyoke is proud to present Nick Devon’s newest EP ’The Poem’. Boasting three originals and one live mix, this powerful release is destined to turn heads.
Nick Devon’s composition ’The Poem’ strikes a deep vein with haunting vocals and elaborate, low-pitched instruments. The original mix featuring Miroir is a thought-provoking affair, it’s elaborate sonic qualities bound to stir the souls of deep house lovers.
The second track, titled ‘Ode’, is a spirited weave of Nick’s signature sounds that is rich in variation. Contrasting echoing strings with a deep and energetic bass line, this beauty of a track is the musical embodiment of vitality.
‘Anything’ featuring Shane Blackshaw comes two-fold as an original track and a stunning live mix version. The vocals unambiguously forge forward, ever-evolving and challenging the status quo, while a dissonant melody structure holds true to deep house. The Live Mix brings an emotional layer of complexity, adding on a sharp and more hardened demeanour that coalesces with the original into a boundaryless state of pure musicality.

Over the last 12 months we’ve had 12 releases, including EP’s from key artists MUUI and Yoram, we’ve had Jonas Saalbach and THe WHite SHadow blow everyone out of the park with killer releases, Amentia and Foreign Guest gave us remarkable debuts, MUUI and Marc Poppcke gave us their long-awaited debut albums, and if that wasn’t enough, we teamed up with some of the best in the game to give you some deadly remixes from the likes of Einmusik, Solee, Los Suruba and Rashid Ajami – what a year! 

You’d think with turning 4, it’d be easy to sit back and enjoy the ride? Yet Crossfrontier Audio won’t stop, we’re gearing up for another year and we’re gunning for our 50th release too! The next of which is a mix of label favourites and exciting new artists who feature on our 2-part 4 Years of Crossfrontier Audio, due for release mid of October – stay in the mix as you will not be disappointed, with a nod to the past and a look to the future, we certainly have a few surprises for you. 

Lastly, we’d like to thank everyone involved with us over the last 4 years thus far, be it an avid listener, a DJ playing out our signature sound, or one of the many creative artists we work with – it’s you who we do it for, and we’ll continue crossing frontiers.

Nihil Young desires to Take A Trip To Tame God with a variation of proper Hypnotica / Electro / Techno. His strange mission is a design created by the entities that flicker on the wooded paths near the Tulipa gardens. Unable to balance power with procedure, these apparitions cling to the fading hope that somehow they will triumph over awakened forces through the implementation of oscillation and amplification.
