In 2014 technology-based art collective Artengine commissioned local musicians to craft soundtracks for a handful of Ottawa bus routes. Memetic got the #2, a route he knew well not only because it runs past the former Eri Café where he DJ'd TIMEKODE every month for nearly 10 years, but because curiously and coincidentally, nearly all of the record shops in the city were along it. Realizing this, Memetic went digging for records at all of the stores along the #2 route; then using what he found, and armed with his Tascam DR-07, his Maschine, some synthesizers and his imagination, he sampled, looped, chopped, re-played, and recorded a brand new suite of music which floats in a field recording documenting the sound of riding the route from the beginning to the end. Snippets, vignettes, half ideas and full songs flow stream-of-consciounesss as the sound of people moving from A-to-B-to-Z, requesting stops, chatting and commuting, getting on and getting off, immerses you in the journey. Spanish producer and Get Physical-regular German Brigante throws down a solid EP just in time for summer. 'In The Morning EP' totals 4 tracks, features the sulky voice of Thomas Gandey and includes an energizing Olivier Giacomotto remix. As his first EP of the year, German Brigante takes his first steps in a gritty and dirty way with 'Polvo Mañanero'. Deep vocal lines and sporadic synth elements rise and fall over and over while the percussion keeps the entire ship afloat and rocking. Thomas Gandey joins the fun for 'Sooner or Later'; lending his voice to the somewhat cleaner B-side. The percussion is straighter, but the vocals and the synth float on elegantly through the night. Olivier Giacomotto turns the energy up a bit and delivers the perfect club mix of 'Sooner or Later'. Lastly you'll find the instrumental version of 'Sooner or Later' for even more diversity.

Next up Uone offers another killer single, Alien Signal. A killah 3 track EP featuring original plus stunning remixes from Brazil young gun Gabriel Boni & Swiss progressive-tech guru Khainz. The original track takes the listener on windy melodic ride with subtle touches of organic percussion & trippy vocals, a typical journey of what you would expect from a Sprout Music original. Sao Paulo native Boni brings a out a galactic deep house version focusing on detuned sounds and a twirling arrangement. Finishing off is Khainz who pumps up the tempo a makes for an outdoor techno stormer.
