Binaural Thunder Dallas 13-May-2014

Sitting on my front porch recording a summer storm. 
This is recorded using binaural microphones (one in each ear).   This is the most natural 3D recording technique, as your brain processes the stereo sound at each of your ears to create the spatial image.   Close your eyes and listen. 
To get the best affect, use headphones, ones with good low frequency response.
Be careful on the volume control the first through this - especially around 40 seconds or so.    Then crank the volume as much as you can (hopefully you have good low frequency response on your cans).    
There were two lightning flashes.  In the first 30 seconds, you hear rain, and a car driving past from left to right.    then.......boom.

Working late one night, I decided to record the storm outside in binaural 3D to share the feeling of being there in Taipei through sound. 

NOTE: YOU MUST WEAR HEADPHONES FOR 3D LISTENING. 

This was recorded with the Neumann KU-100 binaural (3D) microphone, atop a 13 story building in Taipei, Taiwan.
