For this 349th Premiere of 2021, we have a track by Russian Artist Sestrica titled ‘Sentimental Value’ from her forthcoming EP "E Source" on the Electronic Music Records Label founded in 2019 : Polymorphism Records.

Polymorphism Records continue their intercultural and cross-genre work with their third release E Source. Female vocals return to the label with four original tracks by Russian artist Sestrica, who brings in her characteristic emotional narrative. A remix by Konx Om Pax and a rework by Antwood make up the crew boarding on a galactic grey/silver vinyl.

PM003 takes off with electro-to-techno beats fuelled by a mild, wrapping acid melody in Today We Meet, where the uplifting countdown to launch can be felt. Sentimental Value gets us deeper into the spatial trip. Darker samples and a heavier bassline give extra gravity to the anthem of the journey across sonic galaxies. Floating to slow, surrounding sounds and loops we land on a calmer planet called Intention. Its tidal sensation is created by an orchestral combination of meditative vocals and other layers of composition. New Era enters an orbit of elegant syncopation within a rotating reverb stardust. Ancestral beeps subtly acknowledge legacy to be taken forward to the next odyssey.

Musician and graphical artist Konx Om Pax from Glasgow beautifully introduces nostalgia to New Era with playful breaks and scratches, getting us back to our roots in this excursion visiting alien territoires. Sestrica’s vocals from her original track are drawn into the remix as echoing words rendering a mysterious aura, travelling through a deep trance of diverse yet harmonic rhythms and effects. A journey within a journey.

Canadian producer Antwood’s rework of side A jumps into an epic vortex of more experimental, unexpected sounds. The album-closer builds up towards absolute chaos, to then create a vacuum to emptiness. A supermassive (tribute to black holes intended) drop leads to the last minutes of the EP: up tempo cyber-influenced sounds that bring us to a bright futuristic landscape ironically far from a dystopian prophecy.

Purely coincidental fact: the last track of PM002’s originals being Crisis Apparition and its homologue in PM003 New Era, hope seems to be peeking through current times to send an accidental message with this first series of the label.

Mind the overuse of Space metaphors; in this year 2021 where humans are going farther and further in exploring new places out there, it is a tribute and celebration to discover new musical journeys like this out here, on Earth.

TL PREMIERE : Sestrica - Sentimental Value [Polymorphism Records]

For volume one of our Nativecast mix series, we are pleased to present you with Amsterdam based DJ and producer NAKANO BLU. He came into the scene during the turbulent year of 2021, after switching from his drumming career towards dark electronic music. Being active for many years as a hip-hop producer and multi-purpose session drummer, he decided to start a new project focusing on the inspiring sounds of Amsterdam`s club scene, where techno is king and there is a big space for experimental DJ and producers to play their tracks for an electronic-loving crowd. 

His first single release with cologne-based label Urban Undergrounds was a more chilled, outsider house track, but his production style evolved quickly into the IDM and lo-fi techno sounds of his first EP, Æ, released with Berlin's  label Corresponding Positions, house of releases from techno legends like Umwelt or Templer. Following this evolution NAKANO BLU progressed into the breakbeat productions and fast-moving DJ sets that contain an eclectic mix of techno, IDM and juke/ghetto, defining his particular DJ style and ready to smash the dancefloor of any club.

For Volume two of our Nativecast mix series we are pleased to present the homie and up and local up and coming talent, Etari. She has already graced us and killed it with her ‘Midnight Mood’ EP for the label. Based in the city of Los Angeles, Alixandria Andre, is a DJ and music producer that fuses her love for ethereal grooves, jungle, breaks and electro through imaginative productions, diverse Dj sets, and inspired studio mixes. With Djing for exactly a decade, she's discovered bits of her artistic style which has guided her to where she is today. Through some of Etari's past releases on 100% Silk, Low Recordings, Yellow Island & Native Boundaries, you can be sure to hear more of her idiosyncratic productions in the coming years as she expands her artistic craft.

For Volume 3 of our Nativecast mix series we are glad to present the homie and magical beat chemist, User Delusion. He is a Los Angeles based producer specialzing in everything from bass, electro and beyond. Over the past year hes being smashing through the compilation circuit with two EPs under his belt. You can find his work being rinsed in the club to the infamous Hor bathroom. 
Expect nothing less than "banging" from the ambitious new comer as hes bound to put you in trance with his hypnotic melodies and stomping 808's.

Nativecast // 003 — User Delusion

For Volume 004 of our mix series, we are happy to present e91. E91 is a DJ and a producer pushing energetic and distorted basslines in the shades of Riga. He has seen consistent releases on labels including Club Designs, Low Income Squad and most recently In2ition Music. His tracks have had a global impact, receiving features from tastemakers like CRUDE Berlin and Posse Up!, while for the last 10 years he’s become a strong presence locally in Riga’s underground and club scene. A fascination with and love of the music led to a desire to create it, and his early experimentations with 8bit music were followed by breakcore and fidget house. His sound now fuses inspiration from each of these eclectic influences and can be best described as high energy club music with a relentless groove.

Akumen is a producer, DJ, and co-founder of Made to Move, a monthly event and live stream radio show, featuring DJs from Southern California and abroad bringing a fresh underground sound to LA. Akumen's emotive productions - released on labels including 12 Inches Deep and Low Recordings - range from uplifting and euphoric to brawny with a melancholy undertone, but always with captivating atmosphere and energy. 

As a DJ, Akumen fuses house, breaks, and rhythmic techno for a high energy set, appearing regularly across LA at bars, clubs, warehouses or streaming monthly on virtualpublic.net. For his Nativecast mix, Akumen takes us on a steadily building, hypnotic journey of chunky electro, acid, industrial and old school rave sounds.

This is the first release in a series of charity compilations dedicated to the indomitable spirit of Ukrainians. Currently, our families are facing challenges such as living in a total blackout, with no electricity, water, and internet for 40-60 hours or more, in cold buildings, wearing every piece of clothing we have to keep ourselves warm. This release is also dedicated to all the people around the world who have helped us, and to those who still continue to support us during these difficult times. That's where the name of the series ("VOLUNTEERS") and release ("BLACKOUT") came from. Everyone who has supported Ukraine in any way is a volunteer. In the context of this compilation, every musician, mastering engineer, artwork designer, and person who buys the release or a track from it is also a volunteer.

Hektor Khachatryan, aka yutani, is a rising star in the vibrant Armenian music scene. His fresh EP 'Noah's Rave On Ararat's Slope'—a sonic almanac of punchy eposes—expands the diverse roster of Get Busy, a label founded in Tatarstan in 2013.

The Yerevan-based producer acts as a prophet of ideas, assembling various sounds that reflect his heritage. His dark, epic, and challenging take on Armenian folklore shows that the cross-pollination of ancient and modern is not only possible but also naturally inevitable. Yutani weaves together carefully selected vocal samples, provided by his friend, musician Hayk Karoyi, with halftime rhythms and bass music elements. The result is a set of ritualistic and monumental tracks that transport the listener to an unsettling yet liberating atmosphere. One can never imagine what the greeting of the groom ('Tagvor Barov') sounds like or how the instrument zurna can be rediscovered until hearing yutani's work.

"I am a child of the 1990s who was deeply influenced by the electronic music of that time," says yutani. "I enjoy referencing that era in my work, and it often shines through. With this EP, I wanted to create something new and cinematic on a theme that is close to me—Armenian culture. I almost always imagine some abstract and dynamic scene and start writing music to fit that scene. Movement is the main motif."
