Gaia

The production of the single was akin to assembling a puzzle of soundscapes and textures. Utilising brand new techniques and instruments such as the Ebow guitar and Mbira, backed up by his long-standing Rebelship band, with the addition of tabla and double bass.  

I think this song was always destined to be the first release from this project, as it was the first song that really set the pallet of all the different sounds, songs and ideas that I was working on. It also sets the scene of what is to come by introducing the concepts of healing and raising our collective frequencies via music.

Through this single, we celebrate the cultural and spiritual significance of Nyahbinghi music within Jamaica and the RasTafari community. This music video was filmed at Mumma Fyah's Tabernacle in Jamaica, with Mumma Fyah herself opening and closing the video. 

"Fiyahman" is more than just a song—it's a frequency. It's about burning away the negative things in your life, the trappings that keep us in our comfort zone, and the impediments of Babylon. Freedom is a journey that starts within. Don’t be afraid to burn it all down, and like the phoenix rising from the ashes, you too shall rise. This is the mind state of a "fiyahman."

Immerse yourself in the uplifting sounds of my latest single, "Mountains," from my forthcoming album, The Divine Trinity, set to release on 8th November 2024. When I was trying to move my family out of the city, it was the higher ground that was calling me, and in turn I was calling them to “meet me up in the mountains.” The song is very personal to me as it is a letter to my family asking them to trust the journey because I will “provide for you so just keep glowing” and We left for the mountains during Covid “…take off your mask so we can laugh and smile…” and never looked back. Even now when I see them playing with no shoes on and picking fruit from our trees in the hills of Jamaica my imagination plays this song in the background. “Where there’s no more roads and you feel the souls of the ancient trees calling out to you and me” I think sums up our journey perfectly. Fulljoy.

Mountains

"Move Like Water" was born out of late-night, esoteric meditations. The power of your thoughts governs your reality, and the more we start to remember who we truly are, the clearer things become. 

This song reflects my spiritual journey as a Rastaman: "Play with fire, move like water, work in energy." It also address real-life obstacles, including a time when I was wrongfully targeted by the police, resulting in a dislocated shoulder and an attempt to search my house without a warrant. "They popped out my shoulder, I put it back in. They run up in the yard and she don’t let them in."

We are made mostly of water, and in my deepest reflections, I arrived  at "..,the entire universe is all inside of you." We have the power to shape our reality and move through challenges, just like water. The title is inspired by Bruce Lee’s famous philosophy, "Be like water."

Following his Top 20 debut album, ‘Man Like I’, Natty is back with his highly anticipated second album ‘Release The Fear’, a future-roots, concept album that takes us on a journey through love, redemption, self-identity and unity.

The album ‘Release The Fear’ is out on digital release on 29th February 2016 and will be toured nationally from 7th March 2016.
