What better way to follow up a great single than with remixes of a great
single? Hence we have Part Two of Hunger ft. Royden Vigilance by Natural Rhythm. Presented here are five very different yet complimentary versions of the soulful and deep Hunger track.

Damien Bailey of the UK (Special Interest) is up first with his rework and this is one funky mother. Damien does not disappoint with his funky midland beats, vocal edits and ridiculous bass line. It’s simply hard not to nod your head to this one. The next mix is a disco-laden burner turned in by Dave Allison (Kinjo) of Montreal. The funk oozes through this one and the edits and melody will have the most discerning dancers wiggling on the floor. Dimitri Max (Sampled) of D.C. literally crushes the house with his mix and the energy this mix has on the sound system is infectious. With full use of the vocal and freaked out effects you may finish this one wondering what just happened while smiling. Natural Rhythm percussionist and friend of the ages Kokomato (DJ Cocoe) of Arizona turns in a slice of dub from the Sonoran desert that will scramble heads with it’s dubbed out edits and low down basslines. The final mix of this second part comes from Love Supreme (Mr Chin & Knoe1) of Southern California and this one is going to be playing the floors around the world. With deep, pulsing rhythms and some excellent lead synth work in the middle the journey is one you’ll want to buy a ticket for.

In this edition of the show, DJ Thomas White flies solo over house music town in his big fat disco ball zeppelin with an all vinyl mix session on his vintage 1992 Technics SL-1200's. Wearing bell bottoms in spirit, Thomas gets down with a lil' Frisco, some disco, jazz funk and some good old synth house punk. Old school tunes prove innovation in house music has been going on forever and this trip back in time showcases some of Natural Rhythm's favorite artists.

“13” must be our lucky number, as we feel fortunate to introduce the west coast duo know as Love Ammo. Love Ammo is Knoe1, with his disco infused but provocatively deep production and Isreal on vocals and keyboards. This deep and mighty EP has everything we love about deep and soulful house music. Love Ammo had us hooked immediately, and we know many house music lovers will feel the same way we did when first hearing these jams.

Thru My Eyes is a deep house journey, reminiscent of some of the legendary producers of deep, soulful house. The lush pads, atmospheric saxophone and the buttery vocal styles of Israel are the focal points of this beautiful original track production. Natural Rhythm provides two remixes upping the pulsation factor for dancefloors. The NRM Remix kicks off with jackin’ beats, a thick chord pulse and an infectiously bleeping acid groove that drives the deep vibe forward. As it evolves, the acid line and vocal weaves their way in and out, blending along
with the swinging rhythm and dubbed out sax making for a heady groover. The NRM Dub lays down snappy percussion and a deep bass line to establish some savory funk flavor. Add in some well-placed vocal snippets, hypnotic pads and a smooth vocal breakdown this one will do
the trick at any time of night. Last but not least we have Alive and Direct (Knoe1 Dub). This is a classic percussive and bass driven cut, showcasing an incredible keyboard solo with real mindmelting
potential on a sound system, building into full dubbed out bliss.

Thru My Eyes (Original)

Back in 1998, the The Jive EP was released on the classic Earthtones Recordings (now Seasons Recording), resulting in worldwide support from DJ’s, exclusive features in publications like DJ and Mixmag, heavy chart action and repeated play in clubs to this day. The Jive EP was built for the times yet still stands up to the ages. Crafted with one sampler, one drum machine, a simple sequencer and mixer with effects The Jive EP has continually been played for 19 years and is recognized as their biggest record of all time. Now, in celebration of this legacy Natural Rhythm reached out to some of their most talented friends for
remixes of their greatest work. Phil Weeks from Paris, Hector Moralez from Spain, Jason Hodges from Toronto and John Mörk from Chicago, and Natural Rhythm themselves all turned in 2017 remixes of The Jive.
Each of these artists interpreted the classic tune in his signature way, bringing serious heat to each remix. Phil Weeks went deep into his MPC sampler to flip the samples into a super funky arrangement, starting with a tribute to the classic grove but with a wonderful change up right in the middle, building new excitement and energy into the back half of the mix. Hector Moralez forms layers on layers of tones, all edited and effected while being placed gracefully over a seriously deep bassline for a truly head spinning version that will resonate with full dancefloors. Jason Hodges brings the SP-1200 grit and grime to his super dirty mix, working with a stomping beat arrangement, devastating bassline and hypnotic pulsing atmosphere driving the mix forward
with a focused message coming from the vocal samples. John Mörk took a more stripped down in tempo but upping the funk approach, completely rebuilding a groove that fits with the classic “We want to be free” vocal samples for a funk soul killer. Natural Rhythm bring their own heat with a remix and dub paying tribute to the original, but bringing updated beat arrangements, edits and bass elements to their most classic song.

We are honored to feature a show dedicated to the legendary Demarkus Lewis. Demarkus has been releasing music for 20 years, runs his own label(s) and has released his productions on basically every important label in house music. We share a spot with him on the roster for Ama Luna Booking (ALB&M) and have been fans of his since the Swerve 12" release days "way back when." The first hour of the show is DJ Thomas White playing soon-to-be-released and classic tracks from Demarkus, with the second hour featuring a new DJ mix from the D-Man himself. Natural Rhythm is the duo of Thomas White and Pete Williams. Founded in 1996, these two guys have worked together to create one of the most consistent catalogs of tunes in modern house music. While they have not reached Daft Punk status, or even had a worldwide hit, they have aspired to and achieved the goal of many young musicians... creating and performing ones own music! Many bedroom DJ's have great ideas and no follow through, many DJ's have a lot of attitude with little skill, and many producers have a lot to say but little to show in the form of music. Not so with Thomas and Pete. These best-friends have embraced the unknown worlds of DJ'ing and music production, educating each other along the way in an effort to be able to give something, anything, back to the inspiring world of house music and music at large that has inspired them throughout their lives. With a discography that has grown steadily over the last 15 years, Natural Rhythm have established themselves as a party rocking duo that have kept their feet on the ground since day one.
