When you live in an urban society, some natural sounds can remind you industrial artificial noises, which are distinguished by the fact, that they are done intentionally. When birds sing — they communicate, when wind is blowing or flow of the river beats the stones — all these sounds have their own meanings and *message*. As it happens in a completely natural way, we come to the conclusion, that something intentionally made by a *creator* and inherently made by nature, seems to merge into one musical philosophy.

The podcast under the ominous number 66 was recorded for us by elrux, a child of the Izhevsk electronic scene, who has been discovering new facets of herself for the last two years while traveling around the world. Lisa usually plays breakbeat, but for this set she was inspired by the aesthetics of our brand and remembered her previously beloved EBM, post-punk and industrial. We are sure that many of you will also recognize your past selves in this mix. Enjoy!

The life-affirming selector mix was recorded for us by Moscow musician and event organizer, art director of the creative association @okno-club and co-founder of the once existed promo band @altmoscow - Prasdov. In early March, he self-released the album 'Things Happen'. 

«This mix for me is a mix about the arrival of spring. The playlist for it was collected for a few years. It contains respected electronics maestros, as well as some unreleased works of friends and soundcloud favorites. I tried to put the mix together in such a way that it would be pleasant to walk to along a sunny road - in the city, suburbs or mountains by the sea - and be in a good mood. The first track of the mix (after the intro - a dictaphone recording of a conversation with a cab driver) is a composition by Grisha Gorozhanin from a cassette we released on Alta. As Grisha said, the track is based on a recording of a street saxophonist playing at Chistye Prudy, whom he met while he was walking in the beginning of spring to get flowers. No one truly knows what Osmotic Potential actually means but to hazard a guess:
The potential of water molecules to move from a hypotonic solution (more water, less solutes) to a hypertonic solution (less water, more solutes) across a semi permeable membrane. (None of that was copy/pasted from Wikipedia!, justa guess!!!)
This could be Underworld, it could be Autechre, but somehow they just never managed to make it. 
Osmotic Potential by Jack Roland might be the perfect end of nighter, it might be a set starter depending on how brave the DJ is but what can't be denied is the quality of the verby pads as complex rhythms bounce off them like a skimmed pebble on a lake.

PREMIERE | Jack Roland - Osmotic Potential [Electronic Leatherette] 2018

Jack Roland pulls apart the control mechanisims of the club environment and the way this living and breathing installation can be a tool of elevation or suppression. Using club sounds as instruments for this idea, 'Control / Applications' is a split release born out of Amsterdam's warehouse scene, fusing together electro matrix rhythms, IDM, with warped hums and breaks used by dancers and performers heading up the rave. With a track on our Future Works III comp last year, this is his debut record on the label: a release challenging superstructures buried among the sweat particles of the floor.
