Phonica mix 124 is a truly special edition from not just one of London's finest collectors and selectors but one of our long time regulars; Nick The Record. 
Not only has Nick been a loyal friend of our shop in the years we have been open, he has also been one of the driving forces behind the London scene for nearly 30 years. Dealing records professionally to some of the biggest DJs in the world over the years as well as running several labels including his most recent outing Natural House - his knowledge in disco and house is impecible. He has displayed this in his vast deeply thought out sets over the years be it performing the closing set at some of Japan's best underground festivals or at his long running night Tangent with friend John Gomez, he is a definition of a digger. We had a chat with Nick about the mix and what he has coming up, even if we had to hold his flight to Japan for a couple of minutes!

On this episode of the ReFrame we welcome Pete Blaker, who in his own words is the man who made a bunch of magical edits that made their way into record boxes across the world and lit up the worlds best dancefloors.  

Known for his relationship with DJ Harvey who seems to play an endless array of edits by Pete, his releases on labels including Hot Biscuit recordings, Balearic Blah Blah, XXX and his recent remix work for Rheinzand on Danish label  Music for Dreams he is very much an artist and producer in demand.

Pete kicks off this months episode with a 90 minute mix that twists and turns through genre, tempo and melody. Ahead of the mix I caught up with Pete and asked him about his Remix work for Rheinzand, his relationship with DJ Harvey, his record collection and some of those records he just couldn’t part with.

Inspired by her journey to Costa Rica, Ismētra invites us on a sonic exploration imbued with the mysteries of the jungle and the spirituality of ancestral rituals.
Through the composition “Curanderos (Pachamama Tribute),” the artist captures the essence of a unique experience: the eponymous ceremony, where body and soul awaken to the pure vibrations of nature and the deep pulse of life.

The rhythms throb like the breath of the forest, and the melodies entwine with the shadows and light filtered through the canopy, creating a sanctuary where each note is an offering.
This track is an ode to Mother Earth, an invitation to reconnect with the magic that pulses beneath our feet and around us. Listen to it as a whisper of the wind, as the heartbeat of those seeking communion with the source !
