Air raid city sirens recoded in Prague in 2020.

Every first Wednesday of the month these emergency sirens can be heard through the city of Prague, and in various places in the Czech republic.

This is an experiment I have been wanting to make for some years and finally managed to achieve in November 2021.
“Cycle” as in the cycle of water, of a river, and of life.

“Cycle” was recorded in the source of the Douro river, up in the mountains of Picos de Urbion in Northern Spain. 
The recording consists of the layering of two soundscapes “In Situ”. The sound of the source itself, and a recording of the mouth of the river, between the cities of Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia, diffused on location through a pair of portable speakers. 
I then recorded both soundscapes using two Oktava mk 012 microphones into a Sound Devices Mix pre 3.
