An endless scroll, an infinite lifetime of pointless images and meaningless nothing. From time to time a notification would flicker and bubble in the corner of the screen - a red alert with little to no urgent emphasis in the slightest. This was IG Messenger, a world of the unknown and a burden upon men and women of the modern age. When would it ever end? All that was left was a quick break from the machines, a period of sleep and rest away from the flashing lights and the distant drag of endless media. 

Eliphino is set to release a new EP on Secretsundaze, a personal affair with poignant meaning attached. The production is exquisite and intricate, the tracks sprawling and layered to perfection. This one comes highly recommended.

Patrixia is a dark techno DJ and producer who broke into Chicago’s dark electronic scene at a small goth and rock night in October 2017.  Her performances create an environment that welcomes an eclectic audience from all over the city, regardless if she’s playing at a local club or an institution like Spybar. Patrixia‘s influences come from Giallo movies, darkwave, and acid techno. They are apparent in her taste in techno tracks that incorporate anything from synthesizers to industrial drums.

"I started off this mix with my current favorite release of the summer--it's a remix of the classic Fast Eddie track, "Acid Thunder." As I progressed through the mix, I felt urged to go hard and heavy. I end it with tracks that make you want to bounce around in a crowded, sweaty club in the early morning hours. I miss seeing people lose their minds to massive tracks, and I can't wait until we can do it again."

A. Since I was a tween in the early 2K's (I grew up 20 minutes away in NJ) but as a DJ, since 2010.

Q. Tell us about this mix.
A. Just an eclectic mix of midtempo beats hopefully suited for home/park listening. During quar my listening habits have pretty much regressed to that of an angst ridden highschooler circa 2004 so I wanted to break out of that with something that was easy to digest.

Dub Techno Blog Show 165 - 23.08.20

It's been quite an 18 months for Owen S.S (Owen Davies), who has seen his stock rise rapidly within Aberdeen's vibrant electronic music scene. 

Comprising 1/3 of the DJ group/promotors, Spital Selectors, Owen is regularly behind the plates at the eminently popular Rare Thursday, in Aberdeen's premier electronic venue, The Tunnels. His exports have also taken him further south in Scotland, featuring at Edinburgh's Sneaky Pete's and Cabaret Voltaire, as well as at Rare's sister night in Glasgow's Sub Club.

Once clubbing can resume, Owen plans to keep working with Spital Selectors to continue to bring big acts to the Granite City. He also has an album in the works which we will certainly keep an ear out for. 

We're are excited to have him on as our first Scottish guest of the series. His mix for us is a whirlwind hour, spanning Italo House to Garage and everything in between.
