Continent Lost

Nautical Nation is a rock band based out of Austin, Texas. Singer/Guitarist Jake "Dreamboat" Asbury and Lead Guitarist Max "Overdrive" Watson met and began performing together as an acoustic duo in Kerrville, TX. Nearly half a year later, local rhythm section, Danny "Dandalf" Thomas on bass and Jordan "JBird" Widener on drums, joined the effort to the growing sensation of these young and undiscovered stars. Under the name "Cougarbait," they began rocking every known venue in town. After gaining life-long fans, the band moved to Austin, TX, the live music capitol of the world and entered a Battle of the Bands. After a grueling two day competition against 30+ talented bands, Nautical Nation came out on top despite being the only band performing original music. They won a management contract with GorillaMusic and studio recording from Yellowdog Studios. With their debut album "Continent Lost" in hand, spirits were at an all time high for the unsigned heroes from winning the tough battle. Nautical Nation started playing numerous bars in the infamous 6th Street scene and college house parties all over Austin to share new music with new friends. After building a momentous fan base, they conceived the dream of touring the country. By putting on a City-Wide Art Festival completely organized by the band, the fundraiser brought in nearly $5,000. Nautical Nation's "D.I.Y." attitude and hard work was met with amazing grace and blessing as the dream of taking our music across the nation became a reality. Nautical Nation has performed for crowds of up to 500 fans and appeared on regional television shows (Fox 7 Good Morning Austin) and radio stations ( 94.3 Rev FM and KFAN Rebel Radio). The "2014 Get Nauti Summer Tour" includes 26 shows over the course of 2 1/2 months and spanning 9 states. Shows include a Beerfest in Colorado, the critically acclaimed Strawberry Festival in Washington and a performance at the world famous Whisky a gogo in Hollywood among others....Looking to hit the ground running, Nautical Nation will return to Texas in hopes of even bigger, better shows and a chance to record a full-length album.
