Open house is a house dance and music community in the greater Los Angeles area aimed to support and build a haven for dancers and music lovers of all ages, race, color, or creed to get together and share the knowledge of house dance, music, philosophy and club culture.

Our weekly program is designed to encompass these tenets of House culture as a place to improve one’s skills, to exchange knowledge, history, moves and energies, as well as to socialize and simply have fun. In addition, Open House offers frequent dance workshops, performances and special events for the Los Angeles community in which our mission is to create a safe, positive environment for all participant to release their creativity within house music.

Open House aims to preserve the essence of House music/culture….open, honest, and pure expression.

A little over a year ago I was involved with someone. A short-lived romance, I found myself falling into a usual cycle of initial infatuation, a halfway commitment, and an eventual falling out. I had always attributed failed relationships to my pursuit of music. That my craft and career were the root causes of my issues. But a little over a year ago, I finally asked myself why. Why was I the constant factor in these situations? I spoke with family and friends at length during a trip back home to Sacramento, CA. A trip that forced me to take an honest look at myself and realize how much of a work in progress I was/still am, and it ultimately changed my outlook and approach to love. And well...I’d like to share with you what was found. An introspective and observational piece entitled ALLISON. A chance for me to share my truths, and the truths of some of the people I know.

Nautilus is a trio centered around drummer Toshiyuki Sasaki, formed in 2014 along with its Bassist Shigeki Umezawa and Keyboardist Daisuke Takeuchi. Their distinctive style, which can be summarized as the modern rare groove, embodies a mixture of jazz, funk, disco music, soul, and even hip hop. The conception of Nautilus is drawn not only from the composition “Nautilus” written by Bob James, but also from an American submarine that actually existed, thus resembling their contemporary style that carries on the rare groove music of the 70s in an abyssal imagery.
Sasaki’s versatile, yet solid drumming combined with Umezawa’s full-bodied, powerful bass and Takeuchi’s classically-trained prowess produces an exceptional sound unique all on its own.

2014年ドラマーである佐々木俊之(ds)をリーダーとして、梅沢茂樹(bs)、竹内大輔(key)と共に結成され、ジャズからファンク、ディスコ、ソ ウル、ヒップホップまで消化した多様な音楽性を武器とした現代版レアグルーヴ体現バンド。Bob Jamesの楽曲"Nautilus"から着想を得て、実在した潜水艦Nautilusとのイメージを織り交ぜて、70年代のレアグルーブサウンドを追求 しつつ、深海にいざなうようなディープな世界観を作り上げている。多ジャンルで活躍している佐々木のしなやかかつ力強いドラミングと、梅沢のブラックミュージック仕込みの 太く絡み付くようなベースライン、竹内の持つクラシックのテイストが混ざり合い、ありそうでなかった、他に類を見ない極上のグルーヴを生み出すサウンドに 仕上がっている。
