'Connifer' was written by observing a certain person on my dog walks and wondering what their story was. So I gave him a name and wrote a song. I sound like a creep. I'd rather call myself a people watcher.

A personal and emotionally charged downtempo track by British prolific singer-songwriter Nathan Evans. 

This is his most personal track written around the loss and grief of his Mum, Lynda Evans. 

To all those who have lost someone, dealing with grief or are just feeling unable to connect, this song was made to help connect and heal your pain.

This track was never intended to be a remix of Nina Simone. I stumbled upon her acapella of "Misunderstood" and it fitted with the key and feel of the track instantly. I couldn't unhear it when this happened and what was meant to be completely original vocals became a mixture of her vocal as lead with my vocal supporting. 

I hope it makes you feel as it does for me.

I have recently gone back to work on this tune I released 2 summers ago because I have always felt the potential it had. Upon returning to the track after 2 years, the mix was shocking and on -20db output!!.... I really had no idea about how to mix back then and it was great to see the improvement and hard work by what I know now.

So... i've gutted the track and gone to town. Im sure, in another couple years, I'll be posting up another rant about how this mix was shocking lol but fuck it!

I think this is the best NAVE track I've got and Im really happy with it.
