A mostly melodic mix of predominantly electro tracks with some other techno and breaks stuff peppered throughout. Starts off light and fluttery gets full-on towards the middle then simmers back down again. Get ready for some cosmic cuts of acid-soaked electro full of bladerunner breaks, deep space 808s, wibbly noises, wubbly bass and occasionally wobbly mixing.

Vaguely remember recording this one. All MC303 again in one take recorded to Minidisc this time at a reasonable hour of the night. The levels aren't as distorted on this one and the really like the drum patterns on it. Sounded very "icy" I thought at the time, like something you'd hear in a 90s platform game on the obligatory slippery ice level.

Melodic Electro Bollocks Vol4 [March 2023]

Another frothy cauldron of (mostly) dub-influenced flavours, bubbling acid and bass-heavy beats. Quite diverse in terms of styles, tempo, tone and intensity. Really enjoyed putting this one together. I wanted it to have lots of push and pull, rising and falling, with plenty of sweaty ascents, jagged atonal peaks and chilled melodious valleys. The result is a rejuvenating high intensity, low frequency workout, a sonorous constitutional traversing multiple musical terrains and encompassing many of the styles, artists and labels that are inspiring me currently.

Wearing my influences on my sleeve on this one, Massive Attack, RZA, Aphex Twin, The Orb, Ozric Tentacles, Dreadzone - reminds me a lot of the stuff I played a lot in the early 2000s.  Samples are from Enter the Ninja and Shadow Dancer on the Sega Master System.
