This track was wrote a number of years ago but was not used untill Nathan started playing in Playing with Alys with his girlfriend Robyn Dixon. The track was inspired after listening to Newton Faulkners 'Hand built by robots' album, as he makes great use of album introductions and interludes between tracks. The track was played in standard tuning on the guitar and though very short it makes a impressive start to 'What's this all about' album to follow

'What's this all about?' instrumental album introduction

Taken from debut album 'What's this all about?'. The song was originally composed by Nathan whilst living in Scotland for a few months. The months helped Nathan really explore himself as a songwriter. His old band 'New Age Syndrome' transferred the song to electric and it became one of their most well know tracks, the song was reintroduced in 'Playing with Alys' an number of years later and Nathan still plays this.The song was wrote about and for anyone who was in a difficult stage in their life and it seemed they were all alone in the world hence its title. The track was recorded and mixed by independent producer Robyn Dixon who also features as lead vocals on the track.

To whom it may concern

This track was wrote and sung by a group of students i was working with whilst at Leeds Metropolitan University. The module called 'Songwriting and production' involved us writing composing and recording a track, sounds simple, the catch was we only had one hour to do this in. I wrote and played the acoustic parts as well as wrote the chorus lyrics and sang backing vocals. The track was recorded on an I phone believe it or not. hope you like. Every time i listen to this song back it always gives me the shivers for for some reason, i love the dynamics it has.

Can We Fix It

This was wrote and recorded at another one hour session at Leeds uni during our 'Songwriting and Production' module. I played base guitar on this track, really enjoyed it as i had been playing guitar on all the other tracks, i needed a change.  

Nothing new

Another one of our one hour compositions whilst at uni. 'Leaves' was inspired by 'The Smiths' track 'Suffer little children'. The lyrics were the thing that really spoke out to me. The 'Smiths' song is about the child killings in Manchester between 1963-1965 and speaks from the killers POV, we used this as inspiration for our lyrics but wrote them from the Mothers POV. I think it really worked for what we were trying to do. I helped write lyrics and played the only guitar in the song. Hope you enjoy it

Leaves

This remix was done whilst i was at university. Andreya Triana was kind enough to give students vocal stems off her debut album 'Lost where i belong'. As this was to be my first attempt of composing a remix of any genre i didn't have a clue where to start. The deadline drew closer and after hours of struggling i finally decided to do what i did best 'Guitar'. I cut down the lyrics to just two verses and used part of the stem to create a distinct chorus and bridge for the track, which i think really worked. The instrumentation consists of two electric guitar parts, one pumped with distortion to give it a 'Linkin Park' esk feel and the second, chorus was added,this helped add  dynamics to the track. Midi string were used and as i am no drummer a reggae/hip-hop/funky drum loop was used to drive the song. Hope you enjoy

Andreya Triana 'Lost where i belong' Soft rock remix

This track was wrote as my final composition for 'Songwriting and Production module'. Great attention was taken in the production of this track, especially the lyrics. The lyrics were wrote about 'Nirvana' frontman 'Kurt Cobain' who ended his life. The story is mostly based around the pressure that he was under and this was clearly expressed within the lyrics. Everything you hear on the track was wrote and played by myself. hope you enjoy this one, feedback is greatly appreciated 

Stronger now

'Apologies' is a track that was wrote and is to be one of the singles from 'Whats this all about' debut album by Nay Harrison. "The lyrics represent a time in my life when things went really wrong for me. I had lost all inspiration and felt that i had lost my skills as a songwriter. I felt trapped until this song came about, and unfortunately my muse came at great expense, however i used the inspiration i had gained and it helped me write this song. The lyrics speak of a love for someone that when your trust is betrayed apologies are no longer good enough". The song was recorded by producer Joeseph Gibson in his home studio in leeds on 20 August 2011.

'To your foolish friends' is taken from nays debut album 'Whats this all about'. The song was wrote in August 2011. This particular recording was recorded by Producer Joe Gibson on 10th September at his home studio as a rough recording and features his neighbor 'Will' on clarinet. Hope you enjoy this one.

Priority chase was used as a side project whilst myself and Fret Buzz guitarist Phil Graham were on hiatus with other commitments. The project started out as aid to leeds singer Georgette Hilton. During the period of working with Georgette we got some great exposure and helped us grow as musicians. We got the chance to appear on Look North news along with various radio shows including Darren Harpers breakfast show on Yorkshire radio and jcom. After the appearances with Georgette Hilton we went our separate ways to work on our original material and record our debut ep. We were ivited by lesley back to Radiojcom, this is the recording of that show. The first song you hear is 'Evelyn'. Inspired by Puddle of Mud's 'Blurry', the concept appealed to us, the second song being another original, wrote by myself to appear on my own solo ep later on the year. I am a Leeds based original fingerstyle/percussive musician. You can hear strong influences in my music from artists such as Newton Faulkner, Jon Gomm and Andy McKee, many more have played part in helping me develop my own style of playing.

I grew up listening to old vinyl of my dads, everything from The Beatles, Shakey Stevens, Michael Jackson, Elton John, Kate Bush, Prince , Tina Turner. Later on i fell into listening to Brit pop which was always blasting from my older brothers room. As time moved on i visited , folk music when i started to learn classical guitar them moved on to rock, punk, emo, ska and , metal and everything inbetween before visiting and settling with my folk roots. 

I have a debut ep 'the things that divide us, raw and unplugged' due mid 2023 and album under the same name 'The Things That Divide us' which has been years in the making, both being recorded at Clumsy Alien studios in Leeds with producer Phil Graham.
