The bittersweet essence of melancholia which Gorge extracts from The Story of the Sad Clown floods our dancing bodies with an organic intensity that is as compelling as the embryonic warmth of some carefully locked-away painkiller. Over the years, Berlin has been cited as Oliver Koletzki’s main point of reference and, more importantly, his endless source of inspiration. His albums Großstadtmärchen and Großstadtmärchen 2 are wholehearted tributes of the German capital, as its importance is continuously hinted and charted.  Friedrichshain, one of Berlin’s vibrant districts, has always held a special place in Oliver’s heart. This is where he started out when he first moved to the city, and this is where he lives now. Kreuzberg’s wall paintings adorn Stil Vor Talent ’s cover sleeves and host their headquarters. There are little to no corners in the city that haven’t brought a spark of inspiration into the mix. The Schneeweiss compilation series, now at its ninth installment, is built as a form of tribute to all these particles, tied in together into a series of carefully curated tracks. Each compilation stands at the intersection of the musical and cultural surroundings most prominent of their respective times, acting both as a reminder as well as a timeless sound capsule for the years to come.

Los Suruba and their record label Nazca Records present their eighteenth release called ‘Alpha’ EP produced by Roberto Carlos, better known as Thimble. From Spain, he will captivate every listener with this release that comes out throughout three fantastic tracks that intrigue from the first minute.

NAZCA Records was born after internalising the connection between the advanced world of the Viracochas, beings from other planets and the archaic world of the Nazcas, lovers of music, dance and art in general.

This new EP consists of three songs. The first one, 'War Pipes' combines a futuristic and mechanical beat with a cool vocal that sound like out of this world.
'Aletella' climaxes in powerful groove caressed by a synth melody and an arpeggio that make each silhouette stand out on the dance floor. Finally,
'Divided' is a broken beat track that catches you in this futuristic combo. The electronic synths keep your feet on the ground while the intensity grows allowing the arpeggios and sequences to merge with your senses letting the vocals direct your thoughts.

If you want to be part of this tribute to psychedelic musical mysticism, do not miss the release date this next May 4th.

Starting 2021 kicking like yer proverbial mule, hot on the heels of The Selador Showcase: The Twelfth Night Part One, we are proud to present, with a characteristic mix of dexterity, alacrity and logic – Part Two! 

Like its predecessor, this second instalment once again puts the spotlight on a whole host of global electronic production talent (2 x welcome returnees, 4 x Selador debutants) and covers a multitude of styles in one essential package.

First, we find hot Russian duo Goom Gum in tandem with Istanbul-based Gaidukova. ‘Freedom’ is a wonderfully constructed riff fest, underpinned by a mean growling bassline. Peak time action.

Next up, the prolific Several Definitions (Switzerland) brings us the magnificent brooding beast that is ‘Boske’. Maximum wonkiness, just how we like it.

UK scene stalwart Kiz Pattison delivers ‘Intruder’ – this particular intrusion is most welcome though as the insistent lead riff burrows its way into the darkest recesses of your cranium. Hold tight.

London-based Rashid Ajami follows renowned for the emotional depth of his productions, and the beautiful ‘The Lie’, in partnership with Dröm, will only help cement that reputation. Proper swish.

Next from Spain, we welcome Martin HERRS & Thimble, whose hypnotic ‘Impala’ is awash with exotic sounds cascading over a pulsating bassline. Deep, unrelenting business. 

And we conclude with Nila, the New Zealand-based Scot adding to his growing stature with Asyn on the yearning vocals for the powerful, instantly inspiring ‘Answers’.
