WE BACK BABY! And just in time for festival season 2021. Of all the genres out there, Drum and Bass has gotten me through the pandemic and has been my favorite genre for as long as I can remember. From old school Pendulum and The Prodigy, to my new found love for Sub Focus, Wilkinson, Dimension and friends, this genre continues to be severely underappreciated and needs more love here in the US. Hope you guys enjoy this short mix I put together. Also this is my first mix that was done on my XDJ-RX2, so hopefully they continue to get better from here!

One Christmas I got talking to a relative, Margie, who mentioned her involvement in a 1960’s era all-female rock band and the album they put release under the name Sweet Somethings. Notably in her mind came the track “He’s My Soul Baby” which she had a significant hand in writing. After some searching online I was able to find a digital copy, and that sparked an idea. What if I could revive the soul of this 1967 song and reimagine it in a modern music style?

The result of that thought is this 45. Its two contemporary music genres built around this Norther Soul track with the aim of giving new life to an old song. I hope you like it!

Producer, turned unprofessional biography writer, Terminal Voltage, is a Canadian music producer with a habit of crafting awkward run-on sentences. Influenced by everything from Classical to Hip Hop to Drum 'n' Bass, his music has slowly emerged to be an unasked-for blend of virtual piano, quantized verses and neat electronic sounds. 

Since choosing his moniker during a grade 11 physics lecture, Terminal Voltage has released six EP's and a number of singles spanning a variety of genres from deep house to drum 'n' bass to complextro (lol remember that genre). As if trying to publicly advertise his introversion, Terminal Voltage insists on completing all lyric writing, production, mixing, mastering and artwork himself (which surely isn't related to his ego).

He now lives quietly with his computer and two monitors in the quaint downtown core of one of Canada's largest cities.
