Oral traditions have always been commonly practiced in movements; chants, and protest songs utilized to raise people’s spirits and echo the message of the movement. Actions are powerful, but noise is indestructible. When you hear thousands of people chanting or singing in unison, accompanied by the thundering of drums, it instills an overwhelming feeling. Music resonates with everyone on different levels, whether it brings a sense of comfort, fear, joy, pain, or euphoria it has an immeasurable power to evoke an emotional response.

Established in 2009, the NCAD Gallery is the public face of the National College of Art and Design (NCAD), Dublin. The Gallery supports contemporary practice and critical debate in visual arts practices' and aims to reflect the diversity and strengths of the College by continuing to develop and promote its exhibition and education programme.
The Gallery affords an opportunity for invited practitioners, curators, makers, writers and academics to experiment with, develop and publicly present their work; providing a space for research and debate within the context of contemporary practice in the immediate environment of the NCAD, engaging the wider visual arts sector and public audiences. Through collaboration and in partnering with a wide range of organisations and institutions in Ireland and further afield, it's expansive visual arts programme of exhibition, projects, performance, workshops and events play a central role in developing local, national and international connections.
