Recorded live at About Blank on 23.08.2019, Cork Bangers is the DJ & Production alias of KilleKill boss DJ Flush and Irish DJ/Producer + KilleKIll resident Jamie Behan. Formed out of an impromptu back to back set at Griessmuehle in 2016, a mutual love for the humour & booty shaking rhythms of ghetto house, as well as banging techno, they have released music together on KilleKill & Krake with lots more to come. In the meantime here they are with some badass jacking and pounding techno and some unreleased cuts of their own for good measure.

Next up in the Audio Series we present: Bloody Mary

Bloody Mary encompasses all aspects of an established electronic musician: she’s a producer, she performs live, she’s a vinyl DJ, and she’s been running the label Dame-Music since 2010.

The French-born, Berlin-based artist likes to be kept busy. When she’s not caught up running between airport gates, she’s usually locked away in her hardware-heavy studio, continuously mastering her art as a producer.

After relocating to Berlin in 2005, it wasn’t long before Bloody Mary’s career as a DJ was put on the international stage. Nowadays, her name is easily recognizable in the worldwide electronic music scene, having performed at festivals and clubs the world over as both a DJ and live act for more than 10 years.

In 2010, Bloody Mary started her own vinyl and digital imprint: Dame-Music. Celebrating its 10 year anniversary this year, to this day the label has had 44 releases (featuring artists like KiNK, Thomas P. Heckmann, Lady Starlight, Alien Rain, Hardfloor, and many more), and has hosted numerous label parties across Europe.

As a producer, Bloody Mary has released countless records on Dame-Music over the past 10 years. Since 2017, she decided to branch out further, releasing her music on Josh Wink’s Ovum Rec., DJ Pierre’s Afro Acid, and Tim Taylor’s legendary UK techno imprint, Missile. She regularly features as part of Amsterdam’s ADE, such as being hand-picked by Roland to talk about their illustrious 303, or being asked to produce and match music to an advertisement in front of a team of industry professionals as part of a Sync panel.

Fast forward to 2019: she was chosen to make an official remix of Phuture’s classic “Acid Tracks” which was widely acclaimed. She also launched her solo live act, making her debut in the infamous basement of Tresor Berlin.

Pandemic aside, in 2020 she has showed no signs of slowing down: a full collaboration EP with Cardopusher dropped in February, including a remix from Sarin. This is followed by a double vinyl release to celebrate the 10 year anniversary of Dame-Music, which includes tracks from label artists new and old, as well as some exclusives from special guests.

2020 also saw the release of her 10 minutes “Against The Clock” feature on FACT Magazine’s YouTube channel, which continues to receive outstanding feedback to this day.

Bloody Mary’s unique musical taste and elegant on-stage presence have seen her feature at festivals such as Movement Detroit, Piknic Electronik Australia and Barcelona, Intro Festival Mongolia, Epizode Vietnam, Rainbow Serpent, ADE, Sonar and WMC Miami. She has also graced the decks of world-renowned clubs like Fabric London, Space Ibiza, Panorama Bar Berlin, Smart Bar Chicago, Shelter Amsterdam, Tresor and many more.

Auditory Exercise 1 [DJ Set]

EPM Podcast 166 comes from Elyas. Currently focussed on his own Seclusion label, Marseille based producer, Damien Lapéna has been releasing on established techno labels such as Modularz, Soma and Symbolism for over a decade. Now he brings his techno DJ skills to the EPM podcast series with floor heat provided by Robert Hood, James Ruskin, Ben Sims, Mark Broom, DJ Bone, Sebastian Kramer, Player, Paul Mac, Floorplan and a couple of his own productions with DJ Sack. 

Damien Lapéna launched his Elyas project on Modularz (LA), with ten vinyl releases that aired between 2012 and 2016. During this period he had the chance to play in prestigious European clubs such as Tresor, Berghain, Corsica Studios and Cassette Club, as well as in New York where he shared the line-up with artists such as: Function, Pfirter, Developer, Grindvik etc. He has now released over 30 vinyl EPs with different projects and collaborated with artists such as Jerome Sydenham, Perc, Dustin Zahn, Orlando Voorn and many more.

More recently Elyas released on Soma records and on Ben Sims’ Symbolism imprint. He also launched his new label Seclusion, currently featuring 16 releases from Detroit artists such as Mark Flash from UR, Hlx1, BlakTony, DJ T-1000 and worldwide artists from the techno scene such as DJ Shufflemaster, DJ Deeon, Samuel L Session and Jeroen Search.

From obtuse angles to intense physicality, Peder Mannerfelt’s highly individual take on techno demands attention and consideration. While his many-sided body of work reaches back more than a decade, the Swedish producer’s current investigations in the field of experimental dance music are as prolific as they are unpredictable.

To date he has recorded an accomplished series of albums as Roll The Dice alongside Malcolm Pardon, explored a more direct strain of techno as The Subliminal Kid and also lent his production skills to Fever Ray’s acclaimed debut album and 2017’s Plunge.

Fiedel joins our series this week paying homage to early influences such as Kraftwerk and showing variety in his collection connecting electro and breaks throughout with purpose and energy. "As a music lover, I enjoy different kinds of music. As a DJ, I didn't play only techno throughout my career but several different styles. For the Dimensions podcast I wanted to lay the focus on broken beats. It turned out to be a mix of electro, breaks and d'n'b." 

As a producer, Fiedel has releases on Ostgut Ton and launched his own Fiedelone and Super Sound Tool labels and explains a little about the next release: "For the upcoming release on Super Sound Tool I chose one track by Brazilian born and London based producer Vinicius Honorio, which has a rather ruff electro-ish and funky touch. In my eyes it works well as a tool to combine different styles or in a pure Electro or Breaks set."
