Description: Had the opportunity to team up with my good buddy @r-cheese last weekend on the second night of the Public Works 8 Year Anniversary party. We chose to keep it light and fun, focusing on a mixture of newer music and tracks we've enjoyed playing at previous events at Public Works over the years.

A personal rework of one of my favorite classics ever, New Order's Blue Monday. 
I had mixed feelings the first time I heard it in some club. These dribbling bass drums were kind of weird to me. I couldn't really understand why people were mad when they recognized the track. Then, when I left, I realized the only melodies that were still around in my head were those of this pure classic. I started to listen to it and couldn't help but put it on hard rotation at home and in my studio. I became obsessed with it and even wanted to own the same hardware that was used to produce it (a few days later, I bought an Oberheim DX from some guy who claimed he signed with Virgin Records on the same day as Daft Punk). 
The original multitracks sessions are publicly available so I had to do something...so here we are. I wanted to give the track a more modern & Italo direction, while trying to respect the original vibe. 
Hope you'll enjoy it & spin it in front of passionate crowds. 
The artwork is a tribute to John Carpenter's Christine (1983), which was released a few months later.

NDMC is a partier at heart. Based in San Francisco, he’s a resident with Zero Fucks, a music-loving consortium of like-minded DJs, producers, and visual artists who throw house and techno events in addition to traveling the world together in search of new musical experiences. Partial to energetic crowds in intimate settings, NDMC has a preference for techno but is also not one to shy away from classic upbeat house in the right environment.
