Especially in times like these music brings consolation and connects people in a very unique way and because of that, we are able to share with you the 40th episode of SALON by @Vanoni, a skilled DJ and producer from Patagonia, Argentina. 

In this mix Vanoni translates what he can do like no other. With his impeccable track selection and delicate way of mixing he manages to portray the listener an exploration of long reverberating pads, enveloping textures, minimal percussion and psychedelic synths. This mix is made specifically for Chakra meditation. The tracks have been selected for their resonance with, or between, our body's primary energy centres - Chakra's. The journey starts out with Modv's Mayfield Pt.2 low frequency textures to awaken our Muladhara (at the base of spine) before moving through 11 more tracks that snake and expand their way through the Svadhishthana (root of our sexual organs), Manipura (solar plexus), Anahata (heart), Vishuddha (throat), Ajna (third eye), culminating at the Sahasrara (crown) with Fook Yue's Uncanny Valley. It's a 67 minute journey and its designed to guide a Chakra meditation in both a lying down position or through dancing.

These centres are like metaphysical tuning forks, that resonate at different frequencies and colours and, when activated, help align our heart and mind to our souls path. To create each mix I pre-listen to my music and allocate each track a Chakra corresponding to the energy centre it activates in me. Welcome to another edition of our XY experimental section.

In this case, we're glad to introduce Ricardo, aka Lateral Movement:
In the nineties a move to the UK came as a consequence of his studies and with him a pulsating eagerness which helped Lateral Movement to dive right into the local music culture, effervescent as ever. There he meandered effortlessly through genres, taking him deeper into the arts whilst aiding his curiosity, from free jazz to indietronica. Returning to his homeland, Portugal, subtracted him from this rich diversity and forced him to become a strong supporter of the alternative scenes, where he looked to push people and projects that shared his values and vision. There and then he decided to embark on a different kind of journey and took upon himself the responsibility of discovering new music and to share it with the community. To this day techno and its many guises are his passion, especially the deeper and hypnotic realms, where ambience and atmosphere play the main role.

In this occasion, he is bringing to our speakers a carefully crafted and very cohesively selected session, composed mainly by deep intrincated beats and surrounding trippy drums,
