To heavily draw upon your retro influences but still sound current is a tricky old business, but our lovable 'Muddyloop' do exactly that, as their latest single 'If This Isn't Love' perfectly captures those nostalgic feel-good 80s vibes, yet also manages to sound like it should be a heavy rotation 'Radio 1' a-lister!

'If This Isn't Love' is actually the first single to be taken from Muddyloop's much acclaimed 'Back Together Ep' and boasts the ever gutsy 'Lucy Lawrence' on lead vocals, who totally smashes it, and delivers a quite astonishing vocal performance. Add that to Muddyloop's hard hitting groove and you've got yourself a winning combination of pastiche perfection, showing the World just how talented this London based four-piece band really are!

In true Mullet style, we thought it rude not to include some tasteful remixes and asked our Mullet brethren's 'Casio Social Club', 'Dragon Suplex' and 'Joeblack' to do the honours. Everybody's favourite Brazilian 'Joeblack', slows the tempo right down and kills it with yet another mid 80s cod-piece swinging Boogie delight... OUCH!

Whiskey Pickle Records welcome German producer Mac-K-Cee to the fold with his super-groovy debut for the label. “Temptation“ and ”Step Outside” are a pair of classics-inspired deep house cuts that feature bouncy grooves, lovely stabs, and euphoric vocal samples. The single features two remixes of “Temptation”, with the first coming from label mainstay Walter Jones (DFA / Permanent Vacation) who drops the tempo considerably and adds his signature swing and acidic flourishes. Cancun’s The Funk District follows suit with an equally low slung dub version that channels the sun drenched vibes this fresh producer is becoming known for.
