EP-226 is here! and a couple of notes about it. First, yes it is my B-day episode cause it falls on the day i recorded it this year. Secondly, I recorded this episode right after I went to see and hear Louie Vega play here in Hollywood as he was head-lining a DEEP event with Marques Wyatt . He, being the Master that he is, played AMAZING and got me so inspired that as soon as I got home (which was real late) I turned on the decks and got cooking. You can hear how he inspired me from the beginning of the show. Since it was my B-day a couple of friends joined me and well, I played for them and turned on the recorder. Nobody had to twist my rubber arm for that. I was having so much fun that I even took out a couple of vinyl records that I still had and used to play in the mid-80s when I was into the whole New Wave thing in High School and College.

For the millennial fans, vinyl records are 12" plastic discs that we used to physically touch to cue up and to play music from 😁

It sucks to get old but it sure is fun to still play music - and it keeps me young 😉

Around 2016 Ricardo partnered with Germany’s Nu Disco Your Disco (NDYD), a leading advocate for the Nu Disco genre. Their collaboration birthed the NDYD Radio Show, which Ricardo hosts weekly, showcasing top global talent and steadily growing a loyal listener base. For Ricardo, Nu Disco offers a modern bridge for the soulful West Coast vibe to resonate with newer generations.

While underground music trends have evolved over the decades, Ricardo’s passion remains unwavering: playing music that inspires people to get up, dance, and celebrate the timeless groove of house music.
