To say I am excited to have this returning guest to the show is huge understatement for so many reasons. First, the obvious. I've been a fan of @alex_hook for many years. I think I first heard his productions before I even started  the radio show in 2016 when he was putting beautiful tracks out on the label Spirit Soul Records. I fell in love with his production style and melodies. 

I remember reaching out to him to invite him to be a guest on the radio show and we both starting talking about our love and admiration for that San Francisco sound from the early 2000s on labels like Naked Music, OM, and others. His music style was certainly influenced by that. No wonder I was into his productions. Long story short, we became long distance friends and I introduced him to so of my musical friends so he could  hopefully someday collaborate with (like Jay-J) and the rest is history.

This is Alex's third appearance on the show and it's a special one. Today is also the day he releases his first single on our label called 'You Showed Me' in collaboration with his talented partner in crime, singer and songwriter Rene. The release also includes a remix by our own @cloakdaggernyc. This beautiful track with its beautiful melodies is available as of today in all of your favorite music outlets. You also can not miss it in this episode as it is the first track at the beginning of EP-275 that Alex has done for us.

Next week's program (EP-276) is the recording of my live set when I open and warmed up for @miguelmigs1 on Halloween and I got to play Alex's new song on a big club system. It sounded amazing and some big names took notice of it :)

In 2000, Ricardo pioneered sharing his mixes online, a bold and innovative step that garnered him international recognition. This exposure led to global performances and opportunities, while he also became a syndicated radio host on satellite and online platforms.

Around 2016 Ricardo partnered with Germany’s Nu Disco Your Disco (NDYD), a leading advocate for the Nu Disco genre. Their collaboration birthed the NDYD Radio Show, which Ricardo hosts weekly, showcasing top global talent and steadily growing a loyal listener base. For Ricardo, Nu Disco offers a modern bridge for the soulful West Coast vibe to resonate with newer generations.

While underground music trends have evolved over the decades, Ricardo’s passion remains unwavering: playing music that inspires people to get up, dance, and celebrate the timeless groove of house music.
