man Ricardo!! such a fan, remember having your mixes with me in 2006. so many discs burned and shared with my deep  friends.

It is time once again to put on the breaks and slow things down a bit with a brand new Yacht Lounge. To be honest, I'm doing this for myself as I needed to chill cause for the last 3 weeks (and weekends) I've been non stop at work. Recording this set which is a mix of lounge, jazz, hip hop, and deep house made me relax and is actually helping me with my tasks while I listen to it in the background.

This set is dedicated to all the artists that work on their art every day & evening, into the night, and weekends just to meet the deadlines. Put this on and get it done. Remember, art is never finished - just abandoned when it's good enough.

Ricardo Torres, a West Coast DJ, is known for blending deep, soulful house and disco with a smooth, sultry West Coast vibe. His music is crafted for true dance music enthusiasts, delivering uplifting, groovy, and sexy experiences rooted in the underground scene.

Ricardo’s DJ journey began in 1987 at a college radio station in Montreal, Canada, where he initially spun industrial electronic music. By 1988, he was introduced to Chicago House and was captivated by its fresh energy, changing his musical direction. In 1995, he moved to Los Angeles, where the city’s sun-drenched, soulful vibe and influences from DJs like Jay-J, Marques Wyatt, Julius Papp, Mark Farina, and Miguel Migs drew him toward the deeper West Coast sound.

In 2000, Ricardo pioneered sharing his mixes online, a bold and innovative step that garnered him international recognition. This exposure led to global performances and opportunities, while he also became a syndicated radio host on satellite and online platforms.

Around 2016 Ricardo partnered with Germany’s Nu Disco Your Disco (NDYD), a leading advocate for the Nu Disco genre. Their collaboration birthed the NDYD Radio Show, which Ricardo hosts weekly, showcasing top global talent and steadily growing a loyal listener base. For Ricardo, Nu Disco offers a modern bridge for the soulful West Coast vibe to resonate with newer generations.

While underground music trends have evolved over the decades, Ricardo’s passion remains unwavering: playing music that inspires people to get up, dance, and celebrate the timeless groove of house music.
