We are inching closer and closer to the magic number 300 in terms of episodes. That is a lot of music if you have been following the show since it started in 2016.

Next week, I am taking a break (ie there won't be a show). This is because for the first time in over 5 years I will go to visit my hometown of Montreal to see my family. I'll be gone for 10 days so unless I get my hands on some decks while there this episode (with the other 300 or so before) will have to hold you up for the next two weeks.

Ricardo Torres, a West Coast DJ, is known for blending deep, soulful house and disco with a smooth, sultry West Coast vibe. His music is crafted for true dance music enthusiasts, delivering uplifting, groovy, and sexy experiences rooted in the underground scene.

Ricardo’s DJ journey began in 1987 at a college radio station in Montreal, Canada, where he initially spun industrial electronic music. In 1995, he moved to Los Angeles, where the city’s sun-drenched, soulful vibe and influences from DJs like Jay-J, Marques Wyatt, Julius Papp, Mark Farina, and Miguel Migs drew him toward the deeper West Coast sound.

In 2000, Ricardo pioneered sharing his mixes online, a bold and innovative step that garnered him international recognition. This exposure led to global performances and opportunities, while he also became a syndicated radio host on satellite and online platforms.

Around 2016 Ricardo partnered with Germany’s Nu Disco Your Disco (NDYD), a leading advocate for the Nu Disco genre. Their collaboration birthed the NDYD Radio Show, which Ricardo hosts weekly, showcasing top global talent and steadily growing a loyal listener base. For Ricardo, Nu Disco offers a modern bridge for the soulful West Coast vibe to resonate with newer generations.

While underground music trends have evolved over the decades, Ricardo’s passion remains unwavering: playing music that inspires people to get up, dance, and celebrate the timeless groove of house music.
