Holy sh** we've surpassed 300 episodes! FIrst thing first, a huge thank you to NDYD label boss @krissantiago for blessing us last week with that milestone episode. It kind set the bar for the next episodes with that proper dance floor feel. EP-301 tries to continue with the tone that Kris set and keeps you on the dance floor - or dancing while you clean your house, or driving, or working, or whatever it is you are doing and need some motivation. Plenty of new fire that aims at making you groove.

This episode is also a preview of next weekend where I have the opportunity to return to the shoreline stage at the Day Trip festival in Long Beach. I will be sharing the stage with two of my closest friends @djdavidbullock and @jask-thaisoul. Also on the lineup is one of my favorite producers and DJ - @mr-v-official. The festival is sold out so if you got tickets consider yourself lucky.

Next week, while I'm in Long Beach, we have a returning artist who is one of the OG guest we had on the program 7 years ago (EP-80). I heard his current set and I promise it will be a treat that continues this ready for the dance floor trend.

Ricardo Torres, a West Coast DJ, is known for blending deep, soulful house and disco with a smooth, sultry West Coast vibe. His music is crafted for true dance music enthusiasts, delivering uplifting, groovy, and sexy experiences rooted in the underground scene.

Ricardo’s DJ journey began in 1987 at a college radio station in Montreal, Canada, where he initially spun industrial electronic music. By 1988, he was introduced to Chicago House and was captivated by its fresh energy, changing his musical direction. In 1995, he moved to Los Angeles, where the city’s sun-drenched, soulful vibe and influences from DJs like Jay-J, Marques Wyatt, Julius Papp, Mark Farina, and Miguel Migs drew him toward the deeper West Coast sound.

In 2000, Ricardo pioneered sharing his mixes online, a bold and innovative step that garnered him international recognition. This exposure led to global performances and opportunities, while he also became a syndicated radio host on satellite and online platforms.

Around 2016 Ricardo partnered with Germany’s Nu Disco Your Disco (NDYD), a leading advocate for the Nu Disco genre. Their collaboration birthed the NDYD Radio Show, which Ricardo hosts weekly, showcasing top global talent and steadily growing a loyal listener base. For Ricardo, Nu Disco offers a modern bridge for the soulful West Coast vibe to resonate with newer generations.

While underground music trends have evolved over the decades, Ricardo’s passion remains unwavering: playing music that inspires people to get up, dance, and celebrate the timeless groove of house music.
